Recently it rained cats and dogs here for about a week straight, causing flooded roads and housing areas. So it was either drive the family car and get washed out or drive the jeep with a bikini top, cuz my hard to was 'unavailable'. I pulled the back carpet out and threw a bunch of towels in the front and side figuring that carpet would manage. My last jeep was rhino lined so I never cared in that one. But after it rained and I made it home, the entire interior was flooded to about 3".
I hated the carpet anyway so this weekend I ripped it all out....and my floorboards are covered in rust! Im sure its been slowly spreading its cancerous evil throughout my precious YJ.....but its got to go. The passenger side is salvageable with only a little surface rust but the drivers side is actually starting to eat completely thru. I know this is common especially in the older wranglers, I just want to know the common steps taken to eliminate it and repair what I can. Thanks in advance
