rust

Sup.

Just checked out a 97 TJ, good amount of rust underneath it, some rust where a "running board" used to me. Seems to all be surface rust, but I'm not sure where exactly to look for the bad stuff. Where do Jeeps tend to rust the worst at?

I'm just assuming rust is common with a 14 year old Jeep, just need to know where the damaging stuff is.

Thank you.

One of the worst rust locations can be found inside door panels, sides and rear, when the drain slots in the bottom get clogged or the door is not level allowing water to sit.
Look under the doors for the drain slits and see if they are clear.

Check the frame, especially around the control arm mounts and where the transfer case mounts to the frame. I know my 97 has some frame rust in it that i need to take care of soon so it dont get worse.
