Poor bastard...

I had a bad car wreck several years ago. 63 MPH to zero in about 20 yards. Had a teen couple run a stop sign on me on a low visibility intersection. I had just enough time to go oh shit and try to hit the brake. Air bag and seatbelts saved my butt. Broken shoulder blade and shattered kneecap. I shoulda left my right foot on the damn floor instead of trying to hit the brake.

Your passport to God's country

You know why it's called God's country? Because most sane people want nothing to do with it other than seeing the pretty pictures nut jobs like us take out here.

Yes they are a great idea, rolled the company trunk onto it's top last year on a dirt road with a sweeping right hander, LOTS of washboard, and in a Dodge 1500 with fricken street tires. Back end came around and it rolled when it hit the berm, crunch.
BTW we were doing 25-30 mph which is the posted speed limit.

1st experience with seat belts

While in college in 67 I purchased a 64 Ford without seatbelts. Were a new novelty bhen. Bought some lap belts and installed. Went on an interview trip to Minneapolis. Wife was along.

Went throug a small town and a woman ran a red light and we T-boned her. The only injury was my wife had a bruise on her knee. If she hadn't had the belt on she would have certainly been through the windshield.
