If you buy a new Jeep and keep it stock usually there is no issues with the DW. It is only when parts are worn or modification to the steering geometry after a lift etc. that things can go wrong. Yes you can get DW on a stock Jeep but something has gone wrong either worn or a bent or broken part. With the thousands of Jeeps on the road and their current design yes they are prone to DW but it shouldn't keep you from buying a Jeep and contrary to popular belief they don't spend all their time in a shop for maintenance. i run an 89 YJ and with all the right parts and maintenance no DW yet wheels all weekend and behaves on the road but lots of new parts and constant maintenance.
