Shop compressor?

I'm thinking about buying my dad a compressor as a gift for his shop, the one he has is clearly underpowered. He needs something with the power to run air tools and spray equipment, and I want to keep the cost under $650 if possible. When you factor in tax & shipping on both compressors the price difference is only about $55 for the Puma. Thanks you guys are great!

It's between these two:

Husky 60-Gal. Stationary Electric Air Compressor-C601H at The Home Depot

PK6060V Puma 3-HP 60-Gallon (Belt Drive) Single-Stage Air Compressor

If you're considering the Husky, then why not go to Home Depot ??? They sell them there, and if there's something wrong with the compress or during the warranty period, then Home Depot will swap it out.

I realize that, I was wondering which is the better unit. I'd ordering online either way so they'd have to be shipped to him. My father is in NY I'm in CA.

I have a Husky compressor and have used it for a few years, it will run air tools great and I can even paint a car with it but you have to take it slow. With An auxilary tank you can spray longer and do some sandblasting too.5 horse piston compressors are the way to go, if you see the word oilless RUN they are no good. Belt drive is the way to go.

Thank you. Does that Puma have anything over that Husky in your opinion?

I am not familiar with Puma. I look for a cast iron pump and belt drive. That is your best bang for your buck.
