Show Off Your Dash

i've seen some cool custom built dashes on here in random places. i'm thinking about building one, maybe brushed aluminum, i've seen diamond plate. i want my interior all black though.

PLEASE SHOW OFF YOUR DASHES, IF YOU DON'T MIND PEOPLE SEEING YOUR IDEAS.

i don't want to copy anyone's dash, just lookin for inspiration, and ideas
THANKS

I think a black diamond plate dash on a CJ would look awesome. Driving with the top down on a sunny day with a chrome dash must be a pain in the arse with the glare...but I've never had a CJ, so I could be wrong.

Anybody have experience with that?

was the aluminum hard to deal with? did you have to do any welding, or just cutting?

All I did was shear the aluminum plate to the size I wanted, I went alittle longer to acount for the angled portion of the dash. Most metal shops will break the bends for you at a minimal cost. then I used the factory dash as a template for the mounting holes. No welding at all was needed.

Darn, wish I had taken pics of my 69 Willy waggoner, those had mirrored dashes so they could be changed from left to right hand drive. I built two panels, used stewart warner gauges and then built a tilt out on the passenger side to hold a fuse box from painless, the 69's had all inline fuses all over the place. Alot of that stuff is pretty easy to do until you have to do bends and curves, then it can get ugly working with a hammer and rocks, concrete blocks, big vise, railroad ties, etc, you know 'caveman style'
