This past summer I was getting lunch at a local strip mall and was eating in the parking lot sort of parked away from everyone else. As Im listening to the radio this woman parks behind me as just starts staring at my Jeep with her head cocked sidways like a dog. Im not really paying attention to her at this point but she then starts saying, "Wrangler? Wrangler? Really?"
So I look at her and politely just say, "Sure is"
She starts looking it over and goes, "WOW, I didnt know they made them that big! How neat is that!"
Apparently she has never seen a JKU before even though I pass three of them on the way to go anywhere around here. She was poking around and checking out how big the back was and not one but two more doors in the back. I just assumed she was just a dumb broad that doesnt know much about cars but she then said, "I used to have one and Im a real car nut!"
Lol! You're a self described "car nut" and former Wrangler owner and havent noticed any 4 doors around in the past 5 years? haha. She was real nice and I didnt want to say anything condescending to her, but it was pretty silly.

To be fair, I know some real car nuts that could build you a 500+ HP V8 out of spare parts in their garage but they could tell you the difference between a new Skoda or an Alfa Romeo.

I know what you mean. It was originally a military vehicle, then became a commercial vehicle, which then inspired its military descendants...

The wife, Uptown Girl that she is, was quite upset when I bought the Jeep. She said it would be terrible in the snow compared to the Nissan Murano it was replacing. I tried to explain that Jeeps were designed to go just about anywhere, but to no avail. Then we took the Jeep to deliver Christmas presents to her son in a cabin up 7 miles of bad forest road in what turned out to be 14 inches of unplowed snow. I haven't heard a word about the Jeep since.

I would guess he thinks that because the front driveshaft turns while you're moving.

Wheeling with friends and one asked have you had your head replaced yet on your pentastar engine? 2 weeks later a CEL and a new head at under 10K miles.

Okay, so this might not be funny but the wife and I are sitting in Cracker Barrel eating breakfast and the wife looks out the window and says "Is your Jeep on fire"?. I turn and look and the reflection of the fireplace inside Cracker Barrel made it look like there were flames blowing out my Jeeps window!

Yeah, but its not being driven.

You know what though, ive been wondering about getting a set of warn lockouts. Itd be nice to cut down on that wear and tear the 90% of the time im not planning on needing 4 wheel drive.

Ahh... studdies have proven that cops are all dirty, or otherwise the "force" pushes them out. The only citizens in our society that are locally, state and federally funded in the art of spying, sneaking, and lieing... basically "rolling dirty"...

The only time I am "dirty" or "rolling dirty" is when I am in my jeep. And that is only because I don't bother to wash off the mud that the rain doesn't take care of for me...

But thanks for supplying job security...

Where do you people live? I would hazard a guess it is not in a "Red State" or maybe a state of paranoia?

Ah, not all cops are that bad, a little hyberole on my part. But if you can't admit the prevalance of deviance in the field, then you might be one... I already had to do the reading before, if you want to read up on it search for papers on occupational socialization. Maybe it is the jeep that is keeping your ethics in line! LOL. I have never seen a study on the effects of jeep ownership...

I also am the proud owner of a "JEEP STA WAGN" as michigan calls them. Funniest thing though, is stationwagons/minivans/pickup trucks have "truck plates" in michigan. Which are identical to normal car plates, and still go by the same fee schedules based on MSRP of vehicle when new, and cannot be told apart whatsoever by anyone. But if you transfer a plate from a car to a "truck" they have to give you a new physical plate for free, whereas from car to car or truck to truck they can let you switch the tags. WTF never could figure that one out....

Considered a truck in Florida. There is a difference between a truck and a pickup truck. So I'm okay with truck. Just not car.

Oh that's cruel...

I can't wait to be able to do this this summer!
