Not trying to be the smartest just didn't realize there were never any 4 cyl JKs. Learn something new every day. I come from 9 years of TJ forums and there was always talk of 4 vs 6. Thanks for the education.

This thread is for silly things. And what that guy said was silly! Give him a break!

Some of my cow-orkers were looking at my new JKU last year and one guy said: "A Jeep, I thought it was a Hummer". What an insult!

One of my coworkers occasionally drives in his 53 Willy's Jeep. I wonder what that guy thinks it is.

gmc vs wrangler

I overheard my neighbor, explaining to his son how my 08 wrangler was just a toy compared to his big ride.
it's laughable when all the kids including his sons friends just stand in the street eye balling my truck, I know it makes him feel about 1" tall

Fantastic

I can't help every time I pass my truck in the drive (with him standing in his drive), I take my sleeve and lightly wipe the dust from my fenders, just to rub it in.

I took that as a big complement given that at the time it had:
2.5" lift
AEV front bumper
Warn winch
AEV rear bumper with tire carrier
Spod
Ham Radio remote mounted to a Daystar switch panel.
Viair 400c JK kit
1.5" wheel spacers

Then again, maybe the tech was just that bad. We was bragging about the TJ he used to have that was lifted 6.5" for 35" tires.
It's true. My 88 yj wasn't as high as my new jk is. I slapped 31's on my stock yj, and rubbed the fenders all the time until I raised it 3in.

Sorry. Thought your original comment kinda called out the poster about his experience at the car parts store

It's all good.

Not something someone said about the Jeep, but what they said about what I did...."Hey Moron, Does that look like a drive way to you!?" (after I hopped the curb from one parking lot to another over like a foot work of grass)

PFFT... two right hand drive jeeps... there's at least 5 a week for me.

I think the best/worst is auto parts stores in general (except pep boys, and a guy named art at auto zone).

"year?"
1971

"Make?"
Jeep

"model?"
DJ5

"sir, that doesn't exist"
There's one in the parking lot...

"it's not in the computer"
yeah, i just told you it's in the parking lot...

I've had this EXACT conversation 5 or 6 times, and many many very similar where they didn't set the joke up right and I had to go with something else

The parts delivery guy came in Friday morning and we chatted a bit. He's seen this Jeep, and my previous Jeep for the past year now - this week he takes a closer look at the new Jeep and then says it looks nice and compares it to a Hummer.

Since I know the guy, I let him know he may not want to compare a Jeep to a Hummer again. I really didn't think he would be the person saying that either.

Two possible answers to this individuals apparent quest for enlightenment:

1) "Yes, actually, that does look like a driveway...to me."

2) "What's a drive way/"

My response would have been, "Well yes, everything looks like a driveway when you drive a Jeep."

Them: "Why did you have it painted THAT color".
Me: "So I can find it at night and in the Mall parking lot".
Them: "Oh, that's a good idea".
Me: *shaking head and driving away*

So this isn't exactly funny but, I'll try to paint a word picture.

So I had just updated my friends at wing night that I got my new jeep a couple weeks ago. So this one d-bag (who knows I have a Jeep now) was driving by one day while I was outside with my Jeep. I was practicing taking off/putting on the soft top for the nice weather coming up this weekend ('cuz I'm a newb). He's one of those guys who's like total little guy compensatin' with attitude and his black H3 to match. So he rolls down his window and he says,

"So, is this your new jeep?"
And all I could think to say was "...ya it is."
And that was all he had to say basically. Such a d-bag.
Don't you see the temp registration plate?

What I should have said (and thought of later, of course ) as my "Yes, you fool," retort would be synonymous to the phrases "Is the pope catholic?" or "does a bear sh*t in the woods?"
"Did hummer go out of production?"

Perhaps I should have said it this way,

"So THIS is your new jeep?"
In a way that he was "looking down" on me from the window of his H3, with his blowout kinda hairstyle and foakleys. And then he sped away on a residential street. Yeah, it was pretty toolish I'd say. Just let it run off my back though of course and went back to cleaning/lubing my zippers. He's not really a friend, just an acquaintance or friend of a friend of a friend sorta thing.
