Young People have it sooo easy

Had a young girl (6-7 yrs old) ask is she could roll the window down in my new (still had dealer tags) Jeep. I said sure, and she went to try and push a button on the door. When she could not find one, another kids said, you have to roll it down and pointed to the handle. The little girl responded with, "Cool, I've never been in an OLD car before."

Lol!

I foresee a time fast approaching where people will no longer understand why we say "roll the window down".

I'd love to see a teenager get into an older car where the high/low beam switch is on the floorboard.

Or a 3 on the tree!

I have a friend with a Model A and getting that thing running takes quite the effort. Set spark advance, set choke, throttle, etc....

On topic, I was once told, "Nice Jeep...are you worried about it catching on fire?"

There was a run of Jeeps that did have some fire issues!

I've grown up around them (29 years young). This 55 convertible was my growing up restoration project.

and now they are working on a 58 Impala convertible. Here's the body going back on a few weeks ago.

both cars complete factory spec restorations done by my dad (paint and body) and his friend (engine/ chassis) with help from friend (upholstery etc) on weekends. I've got a 70 Nova in storage for future restoration (resto-mod) and my dad has a 65 vette convertible and 67 chevelle SS 396 convertible waiting for mild restorations. Lets just say I have plenty of projects to keep my future occupied.

Back on topic - I have been waiting and waiting for someone to make a comment about the doors being off. Of course I'll probably forget the smart ass response and give a normal answer.....

I think I'm too young. I've never driven a 3 on the tree or a vehicle that has the hi/low switch on the floor. I did know both of those existed. But I have driven one with a choke.

I do have a manual jk with crank windows tho so that gets me something

Not really about my JEEP. ..or about anything someone said...oh heck...borderline off topic, but funny nonethless. Saw a post that showed a boy with a sarcastic facial expression that said, "So u mean to tell me u have paved roads and u drive in the dirt on purpose? And u call it fun?" It was quite hilarious since I read it in my mud caked in places the sun can't find JEEP and I was covered in mud too.

I was at a gas station and a guy walked up to me and asked how the gas milage was since it was a manual, i promptly laughed and replied that its second favorite place to be was at the gas station, and its only a close second to being off road lol. I don't think he got it because he just kind of gave me a blank stare and walked away confused.

In the early 70's, my grandmother asked me to "roll down the lights" in her car. I looked at it for a long time, and I could not find a way to lower or cover the headlights. She said, "no, the window lights".

A guy at work asked what size tires I had on my Jeep. I told him they're the stock 32's on there. He replied saying well I have 33's on my Z71... I said yeah but I'll still go places you wouldn't even think about. He doubted me till I showed him places I've had mine.. & informed him I have a friend that thought the same cause he had 35's... Until he went for a quick ride off road with me. Lol
