2.5 and discos can get you through most of the rocks too.

My stock fenders were removed for trailing to eliminate rub. I havent put them back on since I'm goin on another ride this weekend.

I parked outside a string of stores and went in one. I came out and some guy came running out toward me..."something is wrong, your fenders are gone" serious as can be, with a fearful look on his face. I said, "what?! Omg, I was only gone for a few minutes!" I chuckled and told him why..he wasn't amused. (Earlier another guy did that, but he was joking and knew)

I'm thinking I should remove the doors (if it'll stop raining so hard) just for kicks and see what happens.

Anytime anybody says anything to a Jeeper about economizing it's kinda silly.

So My parents keep trying to learn the different years for jeeps like jk tj yj and Cj so every time we are driving and they see a wrangler they try to guess what it is and I always have to correct them and then tell them how to tell the difference between them so far my mom has got most of it down but my dad is far behind. It's funny watching and waiting for them to guess then me correcting them

I have tried to explain it to people, but most don't get the CJs. People don't believe me that the CJ-5, CJ-7 and CJ-8 were all made at the same time.

Honestly this video says a lot i think. http://youtu.be/S3DllTFrBTk
I'm a little dissapointed that you can't just be driving on the highway and yank the wheel and go wheeling just that easily though.

Anyway I'm not really into rocks and we really dont have them around here anyway. Plus I got the lift for free. Didn't pay a penny for it.

Heh heh heh. I just lump them into one category as CJs. CJs YJs TJs and JKs are pretty distinct from eachother.

Was at the dealership the other day and this guy comes up to me "nice jeep". I said thanks and he shows me his Jeep that was being serviced. A 2013 white rubicon with every after market mod imaginable (4.5 lift, poison spyder bumpers, winch, Hutchinson bead locks with 37's etc). I asked him where had he wheeled his rig. He responds back " oh, you're one of those guys, my Jeep only comes out on the weekends." I was like what do you mean? Ironically I had just gotten back from Moab and I told him this. His response was "I will never wheel the jeep, that's crazy!" So my response to him was, then why the hell did you 1) buy it and 2)drop 20k into it? It's like buying a Porsche and not taking it past 40mph. He looked at me like I was nuts! I wanted to back hand him

Why would you put all kinds of crap on your jeep that make it do what you want to do with it WORSE? thats more like buying a porsche and dropping a geo metro engine in it.

They started with the AJ. Then they had the BJ. Then the CJ. Then the DJ. Then the EJ. then the FJ, but for some reason toyota still makes those. Then the GJ Then the HJ. Then the IJ. Then the KJ, but we all think its JK and dont know what we're talking about. Then the LJ. Then the MJ. Then the NJ. Then the OJ, which only comes in "crush" color for some reason. Then the PJ, who is also my DJ. Then the QJ. Then the RJ. Then the SJ. Then the TJ. Then the UJ. Then the VJ. Then the WJ Then the XJ. Then the YJ. Then the ZJ.

There you go, jeep models simplified.

Phone call from my mom while lifting my wifes jeep.
Mom: what are you up to?
Me: in the shop working on Aubrey's jeep.
Mom: what's wrong with her jeep?
Me: it was too low so I'm putting a lift on it.
Mom: uh, can't you leave anything alone?
Me: no mom, have I ever been able to?
Mom: well no. I hope you made sure it was ok with her before you started working on it.
Me: mom, this was her idea.
Mom: you're bound and determined to make her as bad as you, aren't you.
Me: yes, yes I am.

Lol... Well technically speaking, I don't have lockers yet, so mine would really be a 4x2,3,or4 depending on the terrain

Ive gotten down to 4x2 in 4lo before, and I imagine there's been a few folks on here who have as well.

Of course, anyone who would ask that wouldn't understand that answer, so its probably best to just smile and nod.

I actually never paid attention until my wife started pointed out people who were staring.

Pretty sure I don't count if we start comparing notes though

My parents always tell me that jeeps are horrible because of reliability problems . Also my dad always tells me to "be careful, jeeps are dangerous. My college buddy was killed in one because he rolled it going to fast around a corner. The only good cars are Hondas, and Toyota."
At least our brakes work and they don't unintentionally accelerate.

Didn't some of them have brake failures and fires, and got recalled?
