I know a lot of us experience that "hydraulic lifting" sensation when you shift in and out of D on an automatic tranny. Well I was at the gate of my local military base and the gate guard told me to show my DL and registration, so I shifted to P and the Jeep did that "lifting" motion when the entire vehicle slightly lifts upward. The gate guard commented; "Did your Jeep just raise up?" I told him yea, and then when I went back into D he noticed it dropped down low again. He thought it was the coolest thing like I had some sort of hydraulics installed on it...bbbahahahaa

A friend of mine moved my JKU and when coming back he said " Holy crap! That thing is a tank!" I took that as a compliment!

Another friend said to me when he saw my Jeep pictures that it must be great on gas! Lord, I wish it was!

Sometimes I have to meet up with new clients at a specific location and they say: you can easily spot me as I drive a silver Jeep.

Each and every time I'm going there all excited looking around to see if I can spot the silver Jeep. After a while I notice this guy waving at me sitting in his 'Jeep':

Then my upset stammering ritual starts: Come one that's not...., I mean you're not driving a......erm, you should have told me that you.......... never mind

I was dropping a female friend off at her place after going out for a bit last night and I pointed out a nice looking Jeep sitting at a red light to our right (she's a Jeeper, she just rolled and totalled her lifter XJ) and she asked if she could wave. I told her to go for it, that's what we do. She waved and the other guy waved back and she just went ballistic. Thought it was the greatest thing ever. Apparently the other Jeepers never wave back when she was in her XJ.

I worked with a lady that told us her SUV was a Jeep. We went out for lunch one day and we got a drive in her "Jeep" Blazer!

My wife was coming out from working out, and two ladies walked by the Jeep, one turned to the other and said, look the battery is on the bumper. My wife just laughed to herself realizing they were talking about the winch.

Some one asked why I have a jeep and a disabled license plate.
I said when I get in it I am no longer disabled I can drive over anything and it has given me back my freedom outdoors.

Was at my dads one day and one of his friends was looking at my jeep and said " man you sure are hell on curbs, your rims are all scratched to hell"

Had a guy at a gas station ask me how my bumpers, fenders and sliders got so scratched up.

Also at a gas station had a guy tell me I bought a bad set of tires because " look at all the lugs that have came off of them"

And the best one yet, also at a gas station.(yeah I spend a lot of time at them) I had a guy looking at my jeep with rock rash from top to bottom, dented in rear quarters, and an inch of dust all over the inside ask me if I ever "get that thing off of the pavement" or did I "do all that just for looks" I told him nope but you should see it go over a curb. He didnt think it was as funny as I did for some reason

Had someone ask me if my Commando Green Rubi was a "military issue" vehicle. Obviously this person hasn't ever served or been to a current day Motor Pool.

When my wife got her Gecko, my buddy asked her if she took a gumball to the dealership and asked for a color match.

I do the same thing while I'm in my company vehicle. Lucky for me it just makes the business look good.

Last summer, I parked in front of a store in a strip mall. No doors, but soft top up, light rain. A moment after I walked in,the gentleman behind the counter looked out the window and exclaimed loudly "you got no doors!" I looked astonished, raced to the window, and replied "On no.. They've been stolen again!"

It is like "xerox" means copy or "klenex" for tissue. You could also go with Jeep actually came from the designation GP for the original which stood for general puropse.

I had a co worker who couldn't belive the windows were zippered and velcroed in on the soft top.

Other funny stories from threads on this site have to do people who didn't know how to use roll down windows.

In my case no one can find the window switches since they aren't on the doors.

I am in the same boat, have the DV with logo plates and get harrassed no matter what I drive,. Greatest thing about a Jeep is it allows us to do what we want when we want even if our bodies can't normally. Thank you for your service!
