Well I don't know .... MY Yj can crawl up to the moon!

I did enjoy chatting to a crazy guy last weekend on his rzr about how I should have not taken my Jk up to where we met. " It was a road made specifically for atv's and was too rough for street vehicles." I kindly showed him on my topo where the road was identified as a jeep road. He also said the lake we hiked to was a 6 mile hike and that divers could not find the bottom. Dude was out there...

Reply with a straight face, "Hmm...I thought the drive in this morning felt a little more windy than normal. Thanks for letting me know."

This happened to me when I hadn't 99XJ, but still funny as a guy with a Toyota corolla with a goofy looking roof rack, no kidding, he said that his Toyota could go anywhere my XJ could go. I said ok prove it. I then preceded to drive through a large mud pit, and he tried it and of corse failed. I realized I have just met the dumbest person ever. I was amazed of the stupidity.

I was going into Publix (grocery store) and a guy in a clearly off-road tj was getting out and walking by and says to me "I'm impressed... a JK with the doors off!".
I was kinda thrown off. I guess he thinks JK's aren't real. But I've had 7 Jeeps up until this point and I'm here to say I love it. I would only trade it for my old Cj-5. But then again... the four doors are great. Just wish I had it when the kids were small.

"you should have gotten a rubicon"
I keep encountering people who think rubicons are better than wranglers. but cant explain why. and dont even seem to realize they are wranglers.

so sick of stupid people talking about my jeep. i didnt buy it to impress people.

I was showing my neighbor my newly "dipped" stock wheels and she said, "What did it look like before?".
So I pulled out my phone and showed her a "before" picture where the wheels were still silver (the doors happened to be off in the pic)...
She said, "Oh ok, but why are the doors off?"

I said, "I went on a safari.", because that was easier than trying to explain why you'd take the doors off of your Jeep to someone who doesn't understand.

I had an older guy at work the other day ask me why I would buy a jeep with doors and then take them off. When I answers that it was fun he asked if I was worried that the paint on the jeep would fade and I would end up with doors that didn't match. I just smiled and said I have honestly never even thought about that.

I have a 2003 wrangler SE so it has no A/C. People love to tell me how much no A/C must suck. Apparently people don't understand that A/C is hard to feel with no top on. Could just be me.

Maybe the paint on one side will fade more than the other if you drive one way more than another? Maybe this guy was a genius. Lol

I hope his tone of voice was more genuine and curious rather than sarcastic. You could had disconnected that tow strap and driven away.

Good heart man.

Yeah I think he was just clueless. Took a stupid line even though he watched me make it through the same obstacle on a good line. Plus he clearly would have died alone in the wilderness without my help.

Got another one about my old M-38 A1, 3speed. Getting a new muffler and I warn the like 19 year old mechanic that it's a 3 speed since there were no dash plates and nothing on the shift knob. He says " I know how to drive Jeeps" kinda snotty and points to his aqua/teal (i dunno kinda color blind but it was a girl color)TJ Islander mall crawler with 26 inch or so tires on it parked right behind my Jeep. He proceeds to get in it start it pull the hand throttle to about 2,000 rpms for some reason and dump the clutch in...you guessed it reverse and smash into his Jeep. My hardcore 1/4 steel rear bumper had some minor scratches and his front bumper was mangled. He then says " why didn't you tell me 1st was reverse in old Jeeps!? "

Ouch! Either this guy is clueless or he's a DB to talk like that to the boss.

Honestly, I couldn't believe it. He's not exactly a "top performer" either. I started going into everything Jeep with him and I just stopped. He obviously had no idea so I gave it a pass. But, I've got my eye on him now....
