Sky jacker lift kit

So my 2000 jeep wrangler TJ 4.0 sport had taken a dump on me my frame rotted out and the tranny finally went. But besides that i got a new frame and will be doing a swap some time. So im asking this i want to just install a 4 inch lift kit the one im looking at is the Sky jacker 4 inch sport suspension lift. My current tire size is 31's. How do you guys feel this lift would work on my jeep and what other cheap mods can i make???

PS there is the image of my jeep and the new frame as well.

I think a 4" lift on 31's would look awkward. If you plan to upgrade to bigger tires too I say go for it.

I run the skyjacker 4" lift. I have no issues with it but I dont wheel it very hard. some light trails and whatnot. I will tell you its not the best lift kit, there are alot of creaks and squeeks but nothing more than you would hear in a wrangler anyways lol. heres a pic of mine with 4" and 35's

Do a search on the 4 inch Sky Jacker, there where some issues with the bushings going bad quickly. I had a 2 inch (coil/shock) Sky Jacker on my TJ for years with no problems at all.

Lilyeller, your jeep is great looking.

Bushings are shit. Buy a better lift. TeraFlex or Rock Krawler or Full Traction or Clayton.

I had a skyjacker on my cj never had any issues. If you like it buy it you'll be fine they all have some issues depends on who you talk to. you have three people say ok and one no it all that say no.

Thanks guys this is helping me out alot im new to the whole lift kit thing so i just dont want to be down a bunch of money the only loss i will get with this lift is my tires. They are pretty much brand new but its ok to drive small tires on a lift right? it just looks weird?

Can I ask , why 4" then?
Going to look a title odd with 31's

I have no experience on SJ's coil lift but I have seen pics of the bushings-after a short amount of time. They were shot to hell.

I ran the SJ bb for 7 years no issues

Sky jacker is fine for anything simple. There coil springs were nice but most there design is for a lift not function. If you have any issues with it off roading they will simply say its not made to be off roaded.

Yea very wierd and also your rig will feel a bit top heavy. let me see if I can find a pic before I put the 35's on. I drove around like this for a month or two and felt that if I took a corner too fast I might tip over. Now with the 35 and all that extra weight I have no concerns.

Well i really want a 4 inch lift i have a big rivalry with my best buddy who has a ford f250 super duty and i need to ride higher than him and a 4 should do it lol thats why i want this lift and because it looks bad ass personally. But also its a cheaper lift kit that i can afford right now i want to put something on while im swapping the frame out. Also im not a hardcore off road driver at all ill go mudding here and there and its not even that bad so bushing wear and tare should not be a issue really. How much did them big 35 cost you on that bad ass jeep? ??

35 inches of rubber aint cheap...and those dudes are like 13" wide too.

I used to think $100 a tire was crazy til I got a JEEP.

my 35x12.5x15 Mickey Thompson MTZ were $279 each. Got lucky and found a set of factory Blems. The total made my butthole pucker but you gotta do it lol.

Edit: at least they gave me a free full size Highly worn spare. It was one they took off of a Jeep earlier that day and was laying near the garbage. But badly worn spare is better than no spare or paying full price for one i guess.
