Small block problems

Ok so today my friend and I were fabbing my exhaust for my sbc when I learned something pretty terrible

We just got finished bolting installing etc all brackets hoses and whatnot so it makes it so much worse

We had it running for a few minutes and my friend told me to remove the drivers side header so we can modify the collector in order to clear the drive shaft. I put my hand close to the header ad notice that some of the tubes of the header are very hot while others were mild

Go to the passenger side and it was the same deal. Cylinders 1 and 8 were hot as we're 2 and 4

We took out the temp gun and checked and there was a substantial temp difference. I suggested the possibility of incorrect rocker adjustments. My friend agreed so we proceeded to remove the valve covers for the first time since it was in the truck and running

I notice the top of the cover seemed watery like condensation. Look down to see milky oil -__-
Why me?

Anyways I know what could cause this but any input is welcome

1. Improper head gasket seal
2. Improper intake manifold seal
3. Warped head(s)
4. Warped block

I hope it is something silly. I will admit to improper torquing of the head bolts. It was very stupid and I pray this being the reason. Go ahead and flame lol

I'll update as I find out

i might sound like a real idiot here but im willing to admit my mistakes..

i powder coated my heads before i put them on..is it possible the 400-450* temp and unusual cooling could have warped the heads? someone just suggested that and it seems possible but does anyone think this makes sense?

I doubt temps that low would do it. The head chambers see around 1200 or so as a general rule. I'd look at spark plugs, plug wires and firing order, or perhaps even the cam timing myself.

You might want to look and see if the spark plug holes have got any powder coating on the threads, since that is where your plugs get their ground.

Ok I was right. The heads are fine as is the block. Stupidity was the culprit here. Back in action
