BigEZ I was just romping around some backroads out in manhattan before the plows got to em and the. Once that happened went to a friends place who has like 20 acres. Did a bunch of messing around. Lots of high drifts lots of fun. Right now I have a pretty stock set up so I wasn't traveling as good through it as my buddy. He's got a 4in lift and some 33 or 34 mud terrain tires. He flew through it. It was still a great time

beats a Hummer

just got back from bombing around some side streets and neighborhoods...I made it into this exclusive neighborhood (naperville $1.5 million homes) that had just one set of tracks through about 2' of snow, then disappeared around the bend. I followed them around the curve and this guy is snow blowing his driveway. he yelled something as I went by. I check my rear view and I see him run into his garage. Whatev. So I keep going, and then I see why he was yelling - those tracks stopped in a drift that was at least 4' high. I plowed into it, got stuck, backed up, repeat (several times) and finally push through. Fresh snow 2' deep on the other side w/ no tire tracks.
Got to the end of the road which was a cul de sac. Took the turn and came back the way I went in and that same guy was backing a H1 down his driveway. He thought he was going to have to go pull me out. Turns out the tracks I followed in were his and that's as far as he made it. We yapped for a minute and turns out he didn't realize I had made it to the end of the road. He didn't believe me. I told him to go check- if he thought the H1 could handle it.

Still, a nice guy.

Trudie's now in the garage taking a very well-deserved nap.

We got about 12 - 18 inches here and there are lots of abandon vehicles around as there were some major drifts about. I will say i just got done pulling one of the Giant Schwans trucks out of some deep snow. He looked at me like i was crazy when i backed up to him and asked if he needed to be pulled out. It took a few tries to get him out (those trucks are so damn heavy). Once i got him out he gave us a couple free pies.

mmmmm pie

Hey were you the one at the mobile gas station in Naperville last night when I was pulling a car out of the snow with my lj?

The funny thing around here: hardly any cars abandoned on the sides of the road. Hardly anyone stuck. Of course, that probably has to do with the fact that its a college town and they closed all of the universities, government offices, and a lot of businesses decided to close as well...when no one has to get to work...no one drives...

Except those with Jeeps

Got rid of my daily driver jeep but we got a bit of snow. I was able to get around in it fine in a yota 4x4 tho.

Dan0, I know you're not asking me (I gots a TJ) but which Mobile station? the one on Washington and Bailey? I went by there around 9-ish. didn't see anyone. I basically made a loop up to 75th, over to IL 53, and then south back home. no one was in their ditched cars, so I called it a night.

all except for my pics lol! yeah EdJ the snow started really tiny and grainy and the winds we're completely insane, and most of that snow came up from undernieth her, it was packed solid from the ground all the way up to the body, and the underside of the motor! quite a suprise

yeah...only issues I had today were I realize Trudie could use a tummy tuck and she woulda done better with 35s...but all in all I was VERY satisfied w/ her performance.

I'm probably a better commercial for Goodyear Duratracs

BigEz I was right at the mobile on 59 and diehl right off 88.

It was crazy me and my buddy did a loop in his xj, down butterfield to eola, eola to ferry and than ferry back to 59.....not one car.

So I decide to head home from warrenville to Plano. Made it back to 59 and 88. Accident plus two cars in the ditch and a semi that couldn't get back moving. Pulled 4 cars between ferry
And diehl on rt 59

This was about one this morning, snow up to the bumper on 37's. It was up to the top of the bumper when I got back out of bed. The neighbors where laughing as I just pinned it out of my driveway to go run some errands this morning

Seems like a good number of users are from the west suburbs of Chicago! Good job to Trudie for showing up the H1! One day, I'll have mine too. I'm out in Naperville too btw.

That explains those dealer tags!
Dan05 your mom's just up the road.

far as Trudie showing up that H1...I think the H1 had just pushed so much snow into a wedge that his angle of approach coupled with that amount of weight couldn't crawl over. He had basically bulldozed his way to that point.Trudie's narrower lighter front was able to kind of pop up over than initial wedge.

She could still use a tummy tuck, tho. But don't tell her I said that.

Yea the camrys a demo from Toyota. But a buddy of mine has a dealers license so I just run dealer plates on the jeep since I don't drive it enough on the street to make paying $100 a year to renew the plates every year make sense
