SO PISSED AT QUADRATEC. Ordered some new tow hooks, sent used greasy ones!

(mod edit) 2 threads have been merged)

I ordered some new tow hooks from Quadratec, and when i opened the package, which was already dirty and untaped, I found that the hooks had already been used, and presumably returned. The holes in the hooks already had bolt marks, there was dirt in the bags, and the washers were covered in grease. The hooks themselves were scratched and dinged up everywhere. I will never order from them again.

Send a message via AIM to Samsrubicon
call them, they are a very good company to work with, they might tell you to keep them and they will send you new ones.

I really hope so. I'll keep the old ones and put them on the back or use them as some spares.

Kinda sucks Quadratec sent you returned crap without a discount.
I buy most of my stuff for the YJ from 4WD.com. They have been good to me. Great catalog too.

pics?

I got something in the mail yesterday too, that looked a little suspicious.
I'm going to take some pics before the install, just because.

I figure that if it works ok, I don't really give a rip.

It wasn't from QTec though.

I've never had a problem with anything from Quad. However I got tow hooks from Auto Zone for $9.99 each and they are 10,000 lb rated. They look exactly like the stocks too just stronger.

My only gripe with them is that they don't have the tinted soft top window kit in stock and it's on backorder

I'm just impatient.

I WANT IT NOW!

well when you only have the room fit a 3cylinder out of a geo metro, you have to compensate somewhere.

I'm waiting for them too!! Wish they would of mentioned that before I paid. How long have you been waiting? I'm impatient also because someone broke into my jeep by slicing the window. So now with the slice in 110 degree Texas heat it's a bit hot.

If only you had spoken to them before posting this thread you would have titled it "great customer service." I guess it's much more fun to bash someone instead.

See, the trouble with this is, unless the items you got were damaged, it would be an outright lie, and theft. All in all a low down, low life, sneaky, dirty rotten thing to do and would likely bring some pretty bad karma back in your direction.

If people are honest, companies are willing to go the distance to help with defective items. When a company starts losing money because people are ripping them off left and right, they become increasingly more difficult to deal with.

Not to mention the whole living with yourself after you do something like that.

Not saying you are the sort of person who would do that, but I would discourage you from it.

If you were someone I knew who did that kind of thing I wouldn't invite you to my home because I'd always be afraid you'd steal from me too.

Not sure how you consider this to be "great customer service". I guess if your time is worthless and you like the hassle of having to sit on hold and deal with customer service depts, if you enjoy having to wait however long it takes to get the right product, and like storing used and damaged parts . . . then yeah I guess this is great customer service. How does QT letting him keep the crap parts that weren't worth the cost for QT to have him ship them back change the fact that they sent a customer that paid full price a used and damaged product to begin with? For me, I'd prefer to deal with a company that has the sense to check the package before they send the item and a company that doesn't put returned items back on the shelf to send to another customer prior to checking to make sure they aren't used, damaged, etc. I dealt with QT a while back . . . never again . . . ordered a pair of Red D-Rings . . . get the package and instead of D-Rings, they sent Yellow winch hooks . . . send them back and when I get the D-Rings that I actually ordered, they were just thrown in a box with no wrapping, packing peanuts, etc and at least half the red paint was chipped off and sitting on the bottom of the box . . . sent them back too and vowed to not send another dime to the morons over at QT.

I also have had problems with them. Ordered a mirror for when I take the doors off and they sent me a used one. I didn't like the fit of the mirror so when I wanted to return it I had to pay shipping to return it as well as already having paid for the shipping to get it. Probably will be looking elsewhere for jeep parts on the future

Let's take a look outside your little world. They are a large company that has human beings working there. Human beings that are as imperfect as you are. Mistakes can happen. The measure of a good company is how they fix them. In this case they did a great job of fixing the mistake. That is great customer service!

How good this have happened to begin with? Simple. Some jack a$$ orders the wrong part and tries installing it any way making a huge mess of it. Then they pack it up in the original box and send it back for a full refund. Someone at Qtec makes a simple mistake thinking it is clean inventory and returns it to the wrong place. Someone orders the same part and mistakenly gets the used part.

They made a mistake once on 2 sweatshirts I ordered. They sent the wrong size. The sent out another order with a return packing slip. Guess what? They sent the wrong size again. I called and explained the second mistake and this time I finally got the correct sizes and returned all 4 shirts that were wrong. Big deal, no need to cry about it on the internet.

When you become perfect let us all know.

Perhaps my time is more valuable than yours or maybe I have higher standards or a totally different definition of "great customer service" than you do. There's simply no need for me to argue with you when you come to QT's defense with a story about how they not only sent you the wrong item once, but then turn around and made the the same mistake a second time in a row and sent you the wrong item again. Have fun with your future purchases!!! Thanks for the laugh.

Someday you'll learn that life is too short to get upset over trivial matters.

Or you could simply learn to avoid matters that are upsetting . . . like dealing with the crappy service from the morons QT!!! Life is too short, which is why I choose to deal with companies that focus attention to limit the number of mistakes and provide quality customer service. Perhaps you enjoy testing the level of your patience or are simply a glutton for punishment . . . I can't think of any other reason to continue to order from a company that can't seem to get it right . . . especially when there are a multitude of different companies out there to choose from. It's all good though bro . . . if guys like you didn't keep sending them your money then they might not be able to continue to send out those shiney catalogs that we all love so much. Long live Quadratec . . . just on your dime!
