Talking SoCal Big Bear weekend run August 18-19

Hey guys, I'm posting this here since sometimes it seems the local forums don't get the sort of traffic the general and off topic areas get. Just a reminder that in a little under three weeks a group of us are gathering in Big Bear with the Arizona guys to spend a weekend wheeling. Anyone's welcome to join us, even if you can only make a day.

Here's the check in thread...

http://www.wranglerforum.com/western...tml#post110443

and the screwing around hijacked thread where we discussed and BSed for 12 pages....

http://www.wranglerforum.com/western...gang-7617.html

It'll be a great weekend in the mountains filled with good wheelin' and new friends.

Come for the weekend or just a day. You know you want to.

I stood at the bottom of that trail and watched the guys ahead of me going up it feeling absolutely sick to my stomach. Then I climbed it no problem. I'm on 31's with a piddly little budget boost and no lockers.

The only body damage I got was from a jerk flipping a log onto my hood, other than that, a good spotter can get you through anything. I don't even have rock rails and they're still smooth like the day I brough the jeep home.

And hell, we get to a trail you don't want to do, you don't do it. It's not a huge deal. Though... I have a giant ego that I can barely control that keeps me from bailing. "Hey get tiny, she'll do it."

I'd like to make this one. Which trails are you planning on running?

Just did Holcomb Creek this past Saturday. Would have done more, but we had an "incident". One of the guys in our group got up on a rock on the drivers side on a part of the trail that is a little off camber to start with. He ended up going end over end down the embankment on the side of the trail. Four passengers, one with a broken arm, one with a broken finger, and a CJ that's probably pretty close to TOTALED.

I'm not sure which trails. I'm not familiar with all the trails up there. I'm hoping Rawk and Chuck will lead (unless there's someone else who'd like to jump in... wink wink), but I think we'll probably end up running what the guys who know the trails want to run and think we can all make.

Mine's the dinky rig and I've run Holcomb and Dishpan but not John Bull. So I'm pretty sure it's open to what we all decide we want to do.

I'm not telling any of you where I'm staying and I'll just disappear on the way to John Bull.

I think I smell fear!? We don't want to know where you are staying, just where you are putting us up at.

I thought you said that we could all stay in your room. I take quick showers.

Oh, and we need the rest of the AZ contingent to speak up if they are going. Mainly I'm talking to you Donnie and Kyle.

Hell I didn't even think of that.

But Tiny will you keep bringing buckets of ice down to the camp ground to keep the beer cold? Or do they not allow beer in Ca. anymore.

We're still trying to work it all out, everyone is being difficult. I'm staying in a room and no one seems to want to camp if no one else is. Come on guys, we need to get this worked out. Jack and company are driving a long way and I'd hate for them not to have a good time.
