Opinions are opinions. Some will like hardtops, some will be all for soft tops. Others will hate one or the other or both. Whatever ones likes are are fine. We are all different.

Keep your posts civil and stop with bashing on each other.

JIMBOX.... My comment was directed at the entire forum. Not one individual, Or one post, but the entire thread.

No need for anyone to bash on anyone here. Plus it's against the rules.
We can easily discuss tops without being harsh to others.

Not that I'm complaining--I can dish it as well as take it--but of all discussion boards I would think this discussion board would be the least likely to have members bash each other. We're all basically driving the same vehicle as it has been ever so slightly updated throughout the decades.

The argument about soft tops v.s. hard tops is unnecessary beyond providing an explanation as to why you prefer the top you have especially the hype about being "more in touch" with the road--Please. The bottom line is this: whether you have a hard top or a soft top they all come off. The weather forecast is clear for the whole week. You can bet I'm commuting to work topless everyday.

Whether you have a CJ5 or a JK the bottom line is, overall, none of the models in stock form have no more significant off-road advantage than the next. The 4.0 v.s. the 3.8 argument is pointless. I've driven a 4.0 Jeep and didn't feel enough of a significant advantage That I felt I had to shoot myself in the head with a Smith and Wesson because I bought a 3.8 JK.

Everyone should just enjoy their jeeps for whatever uniqueness and/or similarities they possess and keep it moving. At the very least save the flame wars for if some dude in Range Rover or a Hummer comes waltzing up in here with one of their own "why our vehicle is better" comments.

Relax airdwn. A question was asked about engine and tops, people shared their experiences and why's. I didn't see anyone flaming either way, I think you're reading way too much into it.
