I just went through this this morning with my half door uppers. I used the zipper too much yesterday and there are several places where the teeth are not connected. You have to take the zipper all the way back past the first separation. You then need to go one tooth at a time applying even pressure and feel each tooth snap into place. Once you get past the place you may go a little faster until you find the next separation, back up and go one tooth at a time until your clear. Repeat until you arrive at the end of the zipper and it is completely closed. It took me about 30 mins to get mine closed. Now that its closed it stays closed unless there is an emergency. I guess I'll be getting the half door uppers with the sliders in the future.
