Soldiers On Active Duty

As I look through this web site, I notice some of the members of this forum are currently serving overseas or are stationed stateside in a supporting role. I have a son who spent 15 months in the Afghan theater and who will be going again. I am also a leader in a local Military Family Support Group in western Maryland. I'd like to know who on this site is currently serving so I and others can thank you for your service to our nation. Because of the media, people have no idea of the tremendous job each of you does. Drop me a line so I and others can send along our thanks for all you do. It's not about whether anyone agrees or disagrees about the war - it's all about supporting our troops as they serve us. Thanks!

Thanks for serving our country. I actually have a big ol' stack of 4wheel magazines, jeep magazines, and other 4x4 magazines, that you can have them to read and or pass out to the troops. shoot me an email and hopefully I can mail off to ya before you leave.

Thank you to; all our Sons and Daughters, Mothers and Fathers, Friends and Family who are serving our country here in the good old USA and abroad. I am proud of you and what you are doing for me and mine.
My son returned safely from Iraq a few months ago and I hope you all return safely and soon.
Also to all you family members with loved ones away. I am truly proud of you as well; it is hard for many to understand the emotions that you are going through.... My heart is with you all.

I am truly humbled by the courage and honor our fighting men and women posses.

Thank You

To all who serve our country in any capacity;
Thank you for everything. Thank you for our freedom. I can not express my gratitude enough to all of you. I am a firefighter, and they call me a hero. i am not a hero. I just do my job. You, the American solider are the true hero. You make this place a wonderful place to live and raise a family. I am truley blessed to be American. If there is ANYTHING that i can do for anyone serving our country, I want to know. I WILL do anything to help you in any manner possible. Again thank you and thank you to all of the families who watch thier loved ones leave home to serve the country. I know you have a hard job, I want to help make it easier.

Frank's son is currently at Fort Bragg preparing to deploy. I have seen this young man transform from a kid into a man, with maturity and purpose.

I am truely thankful for these men and women that have the commitment of belief or idea to place themselves in harm's way, so that we may live as free Americans. They are included on our prayers daily.

Yup, here's my thanks from a grateful nation also. You men/women over there really are doing a good thing for those people where they realize it everyday or not.

So keep your asses down and your eyes up and get home safely.

I am an EMT in the united States Air Force currently stationed at Lackland AFB Texas. Thank you so much for saying everything you guys said in the above threads. It means so much to me that you guys would take a time out from talking about a great topic like jeeps to say thanks to us. In a time like this where our nation seems to be divided by war it means so much to me that i have brother and sisters like you that appreciate little ol me. I am leaving for Ballad near Bagdad in Jan and am very excited to be going. This a great nation and am proud to serve for people like ya'll.

This is totally awsome everyone supporting our troops. I spent 13 months in Iraq Yeah it toatally sucked being away from my wife and son but I take it more as a learning exsperince then anything. I never knew how much I appreciate life until I seen what life is like for those Iraqi people. I would also like to say the Iraqi people for the most part are not the enemy it is those few outsiders that like to mess it up for the whole darn country.

I'm a little late on this post I must have missed it the first time around. Thank you for your service, it’s good to see brave young men and women serving to protect the weak. You are very much appreciated in my family and circle of friends. We have been military all the way back to the Revolutionary War and are brought up to know the sacrifices soldiers make. Serve with honor and dignity and watch yourself in the sandbox. You and all the other soldiers are always in my prayers.

Hi there donald glad to see you back stateside. Its amazing how the few can soil the image of the many such as in Iraq. Sad to say there will always be radicals in the world filled with hatred. Very proud to claim you, wrangler00, and all who serve as heros no matter what post you held in Iraq.

No. Thank you Bro. We're all proud of you.

I know what you mean about 'missing it'. I've been out for 11 years now. I still miss it.

It's nice to know at least a few people remember the guys over there. No one seemed to remember my uncle until he didn't make it back. I haven't seen it, but I listened to his stories, I saw his pictures, and I know it sucks more than the rest of us will probably ever know. In short, thank you, Gods bless, and come home soon.

Smile Thank you

I am an Air Force air traffic controller currently stationed in Germany. I have done my not-so-fun-filled trips to the "sandbox" and am now getting ready to retire this coming year. It is so great to have the support of the country behind all of us in the military and our families. Now matter what the political climate, it is good to see the people supporting us Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines.

Thank you for making it clear to me exactly why it is that I volunteered to serve!

Welcome to the forum both of you and you pass along over there (or anywhere you may be) to your buddies and fellow soldiers that most of us here at home are DAMN proud of you all doing what you have to do over there. This is America and if we won't stand up and fight for the people of the world that are being harmed by communism, facism, A Hole dictators etc... Then who will? So you all be proud of what you are doing and know that it's the right thing. Those people in Iraq and Afganistan might not realize it yet, but theirs and their childrens lives will be better off because of you and the american people.

Keep your eyes up and your asses down and get home safely so we can share a trail and a beer.

For me it's just a pleasure to serve freedom, wherever people want it. I just came home from my year in Iraq this past spring, I went to Desert Shield/Desert Storm, and now, while still in the Natl Guard, I work at the VA hospital helping take care of America's heroes. I'm sure I'll go back to Iraq in the next year or so or maybe Afganistan. I'll fight for anyone's freedom and I serve for those who can't and those who wont. Just please keep supporting the troops still away, they need us more than most people think. My web site has links to good support orginizations to find troops to send care packages to. http://kg4kpg.tripod.com/id58.htm I have a good friend now from Ohio who sent me stuff, now we stay in touch. I send phone cards now and then.
C'ya,
chris

Sweet. That's what I did when I was in the Air Force. 2nd SPS @ 2nd Bomb Wing @ The Might Eighth HQ. Sorry if you are serving at Barksdale. haha!! I think it is 2nd SFS now... I still have friends that are still in. Most are getting close to retirement now. I've been out for 11 years now, myself.

Back before the end of the Cold War (still SAC then), we were going through it all the time. They loved to beat up on us.

It slacked off after that (ACC), to maybe once or twice a year.

Not to mention, Volant Scorpian.... and I also did Silver Flag Alpha... TWICE!!! haha. I wonder how many people have done that twice? I don't know if it even still exist now though.

Silver Flag is at Creech AFB (formally Indian Springs AAF) by Nellis. Not sure if it is the same thing you went through or not.
