Same here!

I've been driving my Jeep for almost a month now & was starting to think that I'd never get someone to wave... & then I got two in one day yesterday!

I noticed around me that people who own JK's are waving less. It seems that since the JK is so popular everyone wants them but never owned a jeep before and dont know the rules.

I too enjoy the wave...no, I don't need it, but it make me feel like I'm part af a pretty unique group. I mean what other group of vehicle owners do that? I'll keep on wavin'...maybe it'll catch back on.

Wow. It's a very odd thing here in MD not getting one.

OTOH, the other day I waved at a guy in a CJ and he seemed very surprised and happy to get the wave, so maybe it isn't common to get waved at.

It does seem that JK owners (I'm one myself, so easy on the flames) and especially Unlimited owners are more likely not to wave, but for the most part, if I don't get at least one wave on my way home it's because I didn't see any Jeepers.

I think I've gotten a wave from every person I've passed in a wrangler... But Ann Arbor is a friendly town (and I've only had her a week).

Not only do I get waves, I even had this one guy stick his arm all the way out of his window as we passed each other.

Had this one guy that sat at a red light on the other end of an intersection. Light turns green and as we drive by he's actually staring at me, so I waved. He nodded his head.

Ya feel even dumber when you're in the wife's Chrysler minivan and you wave at a fellow Jeeper. I've done that a couple of times.

If somebody in a Cherokee waves, I just assume they're in their alternate vehicle and wave back.

I assume that with most waves. I used to wave at Jeeps from the minivan when I was in between owning my TJs. Rarely got one back when waving driving the minivan, but oh well, like we say, the jeep knows. :>

I dont know if this counts or not, but I see bikers giving each other that stupid left-arm-45degree-down-five-finger-wave all the time & me thinks to myself, "morons".

That being said, this is inexplicable!! This is the first I have read or heard about Jeep owners waving at each other...i guess i can now admit that i have had an impulse to wave at other Jeep owners....I have only been a Jeep owner myself for 5 weeks now....I thought I was being childish, and therefore I have resisted the urge thus far.....but evidentally there is something that makes us feel bonded.

...who would have thought Jeep ownership would also come with an interesting study in human behavior.

Oh, trust me. I am back among the living since May of this year. I will NEVER be pryed outta this girl. It was a horrible existence for 5 years in that minivan...crushed my soul.

Oh, and from what I understand, vette drivers do the wave-thang, too.

Since the kiddo came along I have been driving an XJ and I miss the wave. The only thing that is keepin me from a JK when she gets older is needing a truck to pull a boat...

So if you get waves from XJ owners just remember they may have kids and no money for a 4 door jk

Yes they do. I have a C5 I can't get that thing out without getting a wave, but unfortunately it's usually a creepy old man with a toupee that's waving to me. The Jeep wave is much more enjoyable
