Soundbar Speaker Size

Well, I blew one of the Infinitys (or fried it from condensation or something) in my soundbar, so I figure its time for some new ones. Now, I decided I might as well upgrade, and I remember someone here putting 6.5" speakers in their stock soundbar. Does anyone know if theres any drilling involved there, or do they still fit into the stock holes? The speakers I have in there now are the standard 5 1/4", and I can't see how a 6.5" would fit in there without some sort of modification, but someone has obviously done it.

I was skeptical at first too, but I bought some cheapy Pioneer 2-way 6.5's for my sound bar and they fit perfect! No drilling or anything. Just used all the supplied hardware.

Just be sure you have an electric screwdriver when installing them. Makes it a breeze.

I put in 6.5"s. No drilling or cutting required, but you do end up with new mounting screw holes in the plastic.

So the 6.5's require no drilling at all correct?

As long as the picture is unaffected, you're fine. Sounds great, doesn't it?

i was looking into this a while back and dr destructo who is on this forum gave me the name of the 8" speakers he put in his sound bar with a little modifying.. "I used the Soundstream Tarantula series 8" coax speakers. Great sound, solid low end and fairly shallow depth. They sell for @$180/pair. If u cant find any, I can ship some to you." i think i found them on amazon for less but haven't had the time or money to order them right now...
