Soundbars

I'm going to get a soundbar for my 90 yj. However, I'm curious how y'all power yours?? I can see running a 2 speaker bar off the rear channels of the radio, but what about a 6 speaker bar? Are they pre wired inside the bar and runs off the rear channel or do you need an amp.

Have you ever set up some speakers before?

Yes. I've done it lots of times. But I'm not sure how these pre wired soundbars are set up. I want to buy the right one for me and not have to deal with getting one then swapping it for something else.

I really don't want to put an amp in my jeep. Unless there's hiding places I'm unaware of

I bought the VDP sound bar with 6 speakers. They have built in crossover's. I currently do not run an amp and have a old radio (5w). I can still blast the sound so as I can hear it on the highway at 65mph (no top/doors). I plan to get a newer stereo that has about 20w output. If I get an amp, I would put mine in the locking center console (where the stereo will go). The bar has all the wiring in place, just have to hook up the rear speaker wires (that hide in the rollbar padding).

Also the VDP sound bar I got has two dome lights that are reasonable.

I finally got the upgraded stereo (with blue tooth audio streaming and everything) and installed it in my center console. It definitely puts more sound through the VDP sound bar and really rocks. Is plenty loud even on highway with no doors/top.
