spare tire size

I have 32's on my jeep and got a spare from my buddy at the local tire shop.... I noticed it is not a 32 but a 31.... can I use this as a spare? Will the tire size mess up my axle at all? I don't have any lockers or anything

It won't hurt it as long as you don't drive real fast or real far.

"But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." - Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, 1782

Arguing with a truck driver is like wrestling with a pig in mud, eventually you realize the pig enjoys it.

Yeah, you'll be fine as long as you don't make it permanent.

i use a 34x9.5 as a spare to save on weight on my tire carrier. i run 36x12.5's however. my plan is to put the spare on the front axle and be sure to keep it in 2wd so it does not effect the differential.

Is a 33/12.5/15 the same diameter as a 33/10.5/15 ? Or even (if there is such a thing) a 33/8/15 ?

I'm just curious. I have 33's but no spare. Would it make sense to have my spare in a smaller width, but the same diameter ?
It would save weight on the tire carrier, take up less room, and still be able to keep the vehicle level when it's needed to be used.
I'm not gonna go over that......
