spraypaint rims?

k my rims are quite rusty are ugly looking. i always liked the black rims, they look realy nice. is there any way I could like sand-paper these rims and then spray paint them black? any1 know of any good way to do this?
or if you think it'd look shitty, what can i do jsut to make the rims shiny again and not rusty?

thanks

go to Home depot or lowes or whatever Home improvement store and look for something called navel jelly. it dissovles rust. just follow the instructions on the package, then go get some GOOD spray in what ever color and have a blast. good luck and take pics!

Once you have prepped them good, use Rustoleum Epoxy appliance paint. I did my factory jeep rim as a spare with it and it is holding up real nice.

Are you talking about the factory steel wheels?

I'd go to someplace that sells supplies to body shops and get some of the masking spray they make, I did my trailer rims w/out dismounting the tires and I don't care how hard you try, you will get over spray on the tires! You can see how rusty they were, so it looks much better now, but it'd look even better w/out the paint on the tires!

if ya don't mind a little paint on the tires then go for it! otherwise I'd try to mask them off a little. try plastic garbage bags around the tires with a little tape and you should be good. but I agree with everyone else when I say LETS SEE THE PICS!!!

You can also speard vasaline on the tire before you paint them. That way the paint gets on the vasaline then spray it off.

This is how some old time truckers did it.

Black glossy spray. IMO Rustolum paint works just make sure its the hi-gloss cause it creates a better water and dirt restistance because of the glossy surface... sorry for not getting back sooner hope you get this in time...

This is a great way of doing it, I forgot about this part. the vasaline is also good for shining tires too...
