stereo in a tuffy console help please??

HI, i have the Tuffy deluxe console,i have the holes drilled in the tub and ready to mount.

But what is the best way to mount the radio inside the console ??
the instructions say plumbers strap, i have some metal strap from working on my house but do i just let the radio hang suspended by the strap not sure about that ??

I have the plug and play wire connecters i guess i will have to cut it and solder in wire extensions.

any suggestions would be help full !! thank`s

I am not familiar with the Tuffy console. But ordinarily a stereo is also connected at the front where it comes into contact with the DIN opening. The strap in the back helps support the weight back there so that the road vibration and bouncing on bumps does pull it loose. Does the Tuffy console have a regular DIN opening? If so and you have a standard DIN stereo, then it should go right in.

You don't mention what console you have, but there will be a threaded pressed-in stud inside the radio compartment. Use a strap and attach it to the radio, then use one of the holes in the strap to attach it to the stud with a nut provided. Since the strap is pretty bendable, you can tweak it so that it is just the right length and keeps the radio from moving in the opening.

i have the tuffy deluxe, but after reading the instructions for the radio ,it said don't install on more than a 45% angle, so i put it in the dash.

Most likely the lmao was because you ended up with the radio not in a stereo console which is made for that.

Don't get on people for posting in your thread when you asked for help.

Relax, my friend. It was just a little sarcastic humor. Sorry if it offended you.
We're a family here. Glad you got it sorted out. The beer is on me.

I mounted my head unit's basket in the tuffy stereo console in my Tj like how you would in the dash. Then I slid the headunit into the basket. I also extended the harness . It was a nice setup until I noticed that the CD player did not want to eject cd's.
