Stock mirror removal help!

I spent all weekend trying to remove the stock mirrors from the base to use my mirror relocation brackets I purchased. I tried everything, I left the doors and mirror assemblies on for leverage and everything. I tried using PB Blaster, WD40, unthreading the bolt and hitting upwards with a mallet and using a longer screw then hitting with a mallet.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a retaining clip or c clip I have to remove before the mirrors will budge?

I am at the point of desperation here, I am considering returning the brackets and just buying the American Outlaw mirrors that fit in the door hole.

Please, any help is appreciated!!

Nope, I ended up going back to the dealer and returning the brackets I bought. They thought I was crazy and I didn't know what I was doing, so they sent a guy with hands the size of baseball mitts with me. He pounded the hell out of my mirrors and was unsuccessful. I think I might just buy the American Outlaw mirrors, they cost about $140
