Cool Stolen Items & Parts?!

Heyo all! This will be my second summer with my YJ Wrangler and I'm super excited to spend it topless

So pretty much I was asked the other day if I was worried about people stealing stuff outta my Jeep.. and to be honest I never really gave it a thought! Anyone have experiences to share or any advice?!

Don't leave nothing worth anything in it.

Someone Borrowed my radio, radio Harness, change from the ashtray, some loose tools and both my hard upper door halves all at once. Topless has nothing to do with it. If thieves want to steal something they will.

Anything that isn't locked up out of sight is fair game for thieves.

Even with the Tuffy console and storage trunk I have, I don't leave anything that cannot be replaced.

I also have a reinforced hood lock to prevent people from taking my battery or anything else under the hood. A few months back a neighbor of mine caught some thieves attempting to steal a radiator out of his car. Yes, a radiator. They broke into the car just to pop the hood.

I have comprehensive coverage that will cover theft.

Eventually, you get used to the idea that your vehicle isn't secure. But then you realize that as a matter of fact no vehicle is secure from theft. Glass windows just provide a false sense of security.

Thankfully I live in a fairly safe area, but I have zero trust. I don't leave anything of value in the Jeep. I lock up my sunglasses when I park. About the only thing they are going to steal is some loose change and bungee cords. Right now I'm running topless with doors, mostly just leave the windows down but if I'm going to be out of sight from the Jeep for a bit I roll the windows up to slow them down. I also have good coverage if it gets taken, well I'll end up with a new Jeep.
