Storage Solutions

I was looking for a way to store my doors, windows and tops when they were off the jeep. I came up with this rack which I built in about 2 1/2 hours using the following materials...

1) 8 - 8 foot 1"x6"x8' pine boards
2) 1 - 8 foot 1"x4"x8' pine board
3) 6 spring clips from Lowe's
4) 1- roll of tool box liner, cabinet liner
5) 1- box 1 5/8" exterior wood screws

Here's what I came up with:

The rack is 8 feet long and only comes out 16 inches from the wall of the garage.

The clips are used to hang the soft top side and rear windows when off the jeep.

The tool box / cabinet liner acts as padding for the half doors when in the rack.

The 1"x4" pine board holds the doors on the rack from the front. There is padding on the back side of this board, as well as at the bottom.

Here are the doors, door top skins, bikini top, jammer and duster, as well as the soft top side and rear windows, all on the rack.

The only thing that I didn't leave at the 8 foot length of the boards was the height of the rack. It was too tall to comfortably reach the clips for the windows, so I made the height 6 1/2 feet.

Total cost was around $60.00

Very nice. I need to figure out something like that so I can swap between the hardtop and softop depending on the season.
