Summer Solutions?????

O.K. So with the onset of summer, I know I will be feeling the urge to take the doors and top off, the problem arises in the fact that I have a hardtop and full doors, which I love, but unlike last year, the jeep will see daily driver duties for a little while this summer, at least until I pull the trigger on a new truck. so I am either gonna have to buy a soft top, or a Bikini, windjammer, deck cover combo so that I have someway of rain proofing it, without the hasssle of putting on the hard top, so does anybody run the afore mentioned set up, and if so does it work well, is it theasible to carry all the componenents with you, uninstalled until you need them, and what do you do about doors, as I mentioned I have full doors that I like to take off, so has anyone found any soft doors that are effective and also easliy transported???? TIA, Cooper

i run a bikini, windjammer, duster in the summer with full doors.why doors?i like air conditioning! i also have a cab cover, so i can keep the rain out while at work.i installed some "quick clips" i got at ace hardware on the windjammer, so after work, i simply drop the windjammer, roll down windows, and i,m good to go! bring on summer!!!!

sounds like me and rickr have a similar set up. i take the soft top completely off and run a safari/duster cover (no windjammer) all summer with full doors. no problems getting wet even in the hardest summer thunder storms. and at night i put on a trail cover.

this summer i plan on scraping up enough money to buy some soft doors with uppers so i can take them off and toss them under the duster on the nice days when i wanna go doorless.

ok, I ordered my windjammer and deck cover yesterday, but, when I took my hardtop off and put on my bestop safari top, I noticed there is a sizeable gap between where the top raps around the roll cage, and where the top of the door is, this, it seems to me, would provide ample room for a ton of water to come through, does everyone elses bikini/safari top do this, any soltuions?

I lived in my YJ for 2 months this past summer. I had a bikini top and hard doors, til someone jacked my doors. Then it was just the bikini top. If you think driving in the rain is a , try living in it during a rainstorm! lol

But now, I have a home, and no Jeep...I think I'd rather have my Jeep back

i know the gap you are talking about and was worried when i first ran the safari top in the rain but you will see after your first rain storm that just a little bit of water gets through that area. it's really not that big a deal to me, just part of the jeep experience. you'll be fine.
