surfboards on cj5?

whats the best way to carry a couple surfboards on a cj5?

I was thinking on just putting a pad on the top of the windshield frame & strapping it to that and the rollbar.
but i'm not sure if thats enough to hold two 10ft boards since the 2 strap points would be so close to each other.

The type of pads that slide on instead of wrap around work on the windshield and I "think" I attached my tie downs to the sun visors. Got 10 and 9 ft longboards never had a problem! Guess you could make another form of a tie down around the fins down the mounts on the hood maybe?

this might help out. i would try nailing some 2'4s in the shape of a square that sits flush against the tail gate on the inside of the tub, and is level with the roll bar. it looks you might gain another few feet and it might be more secure.
I bet pulp fiction wasn't the first time Bruce Willis had a ball gag in his mouth.
