swap partss?

I have a 98 jeep wrangler sport with a 4.0 and i was givin a 99 jeep cherokee with a 4.0. can i swap the alternator from the cherokee in to the wrangler even tho the cherokee is a 117 amp and the wrnagler a 90 amp? please respond thnaks

Maybe, the 117 was the optional one for the wrangler. That's what our 97 has.

You can swap them, amperage differs and you can even buy a 200 amp alternator for your jeep. You should have no problems swapping.

Ok cool thank you. i looked at the 200 amp. i just dont have the money for it right now. and the cherokee alt.was free so ill stick with it till i get my raise. thanks guys

Yep, Sahara. Right on the build sheet, BAUP 117 amp Alternator.
