swapping rims question

soo i got myself a question-

on my normal non-studded tires, i have some Jeep wheels, and they look fine, but they have like no 'backspacing' or w/e it is that makes the tires stick out further, so my 30x9.5 prolly stick out about 1-1.5 inches

and now i put my studs on for the winter, and they were on different wheels. these wheels have more backspacing i'm guessing which is why my studded tires, which are smaller than my normal 30x9.5, stick out MORE than my normal tires.

so question- if i switch the wheels on my studded tires to my normal tires, would that make my normal tires stick out further? kuz that's what I'm going for here.

thanks!

What size are the other tires, and what size are both sets of rims? You can't really answer these questions without all the info..

well i can try to find that out but by reason of logic doesn't that make sense? smaller tire sticks out more on certain rims that bigger tires do on different rims, so therefore if i put the bigger tires on the smaller rims, it will make them stick out more.

Thats assuming they will even work.

Your logic is correct that if the smaller tires stick out more on those rims then the other tires would also, but that doesn't mean that your other tires will even fit on the rims you have your studs on. Make sense?

Thanks for the clarification, Tiny! That was basically what I meant! Have I told you that "You Rock!", lately?
