SYE Install

I just installed a SYE/CV shaft on my 2005 Unlimited. Everything went great, except the tail shaft seal is leaking. It came pre-installed in the tail shaft housing. I got a replacement seal and put that in and now that is leaking too. Why are the output shaft seals continuing to leak in the transfer case?

Thanks

Take a close look at the shaft going into the SEAL....Is there a groove worn into it from the previous seal ???? If so, thats a problem.
If not, then check the bushing(s) around the tail shaft (behind the seal), if the shaft wobbles around in the bushings then replace the bushings (or Bearings)....
Good luck..... "BH"

Are you talking about the yoke or the output shaft itself? The yoke and the shaft are brand new? The tail shaft housing is brand new also and it came with the bearing, retaining clip and seal already installed. All I had to do was bolt it to the case?

I think I understand after reading it again. There is a black line around the tail portion of the yoke shaft where it looks like the seal is rubbing on there when the yoke is rotating.
