take the top off.

I want to take My freedom top off. I've had my jeep for three months now and haven't removed it yet! Chicago weather I tell you. Now the weather is nice, and I still can't remove it. Alone..:'(.. what's a jeeper to do.

Invite a friend over. Have a beer and recruit some help. It isn't that hard to do and it makes the vehicle something completely different. It is the way a Jeep is meant to be. Also take the doors off and you will really appreciate the machine. I am in Green Bay 4 hours north of you and have had my top off basically since I bought it. I know its a lot hotter down by you. Get that top off and have some fun. Winter is coming and I know Chicago winters don't allow for a top off full time.

Or if your garage isn't high enough, try using a tree. I brought one of the assembly's for hoisting up big game, use some motorcycle straps, and the top is off in about 10 mins.

I do not have a garage so here is what I did. My wife called me a "redneck" for having this abomination in our drive. I eventually put some more horizontal 2x4's on the ground and a cross beam to prevent the uprights from kicking out to the sides.

Although it isn't a perfect hoist, it works.

I love this. I showed my momma, who is sooo not a jeep lover. She laughed too. And they say American ingenuity is lost!
