I do this too!

I also use the beep beep beep to time when I turn the key to start the Jeep, I guess its my way of letting the fuel pump initiate???

And I turn my lights and AC/Heater off before shuting it down. (I don't know if this does anything beneficial).

my grandpa does this too. it helps older vehicles to start when everything is off.

didn't know that was a debate. Never had my battery die in my TJ yet, just habit from my XJ that was a stick and I'd forget to switch off the amp all the time (don't ask; very jerry-rigged sound system. With apologies to Mr. Bransford.)

I will say that I know my TJ is push start-able at least with a charged battery; as I also sometimes do the turn-the-key-off/unlock-the-center-console-whilst-driving thing. Altho I have no idea why the battery would make any sort of difference either way.

I drive with my foot hanging out the door when ever possible, with the biggest grin I have Oh, and as soon as the top comes off, my purse strap gets looped around the ebrake handle, just so it doesn't go sliding out the door....

My dad always taught me that this was easier on the ignition system, creating less load for the spark when you start it up again. I think he learned it from my uncle, who's a master mechanic, so I do it, too.

when someone does that to me and it's an obvious case of dumbassery, let's just say I'm not very careful about how hard/wide I open my door.

Reason #37 of why I'm Raptoring my doors this spring
(works both ways)

It's alot easier than you think. You need to be kinda selfish. If your driving a big rig are you going to wait for someone to let you in or nudge your way in?

I drive the Coke truck and I flash my lights if someone let's me in. Common courtesy

When I come to a stop and put the jeep in neutral (stick) I always move the shifter left and right to make sure it's in neutral before letting up the clutch.

When driving on dirt roads, always look for TM 47 and TM 48 tank mines, and ambush sites.

When ever i come out of 4WD i always back up about 15 feet to make sure my 4WD disengages

Another thing ive noticed is that when ever i turn on my headlights i alway flip on my fog lights. add that extra light

Another habit is before starting i push in the clutch and put the shifter and neutral then start up

Just tell the officer you were keeping the tires warm.

I do the same thing. The "Jeep" letters have to be facing me. I wish I had a key that says "Jeep" on both sides, would make life much easier.

Oh no! You must have the good side, "Jeep" and the bad side "Chrysler" inserted correctly. A double sided key would screw up the whole vortex theory! One side is lucky, the other is trouble. I'm just kidd'n! I'm not superstitious but it is a funny habit none the less!

Ha! I turn everything off before I kill the engine to. I'm really mad about the 3 beep thing, I caught myself doing that the past few days, lucky for me I broke that newly acquired habit! . I give it one beep and " fire in the hole"!

I'm a very process or checklist driven so now that it's been mentioned I always go through the same process for startup/shutdown is turn key partway give it 5 seconds turn key further start jeep....wait for all warnings to go out then power up the heater and then the radio...

Process changes for shutdown as well as summer top off operations

I guess it's the checklist mentality ingrained in me for flight training that keep me almost subconsciously doing so.

I always let the idle settle down after cranking before I turn on any additional electronics (a/c, heat, lights etc.) and always turn them all off before I turn the key off so they don't start up when I crank the next time.
