I just bought a JK last week. I previously owned a 1980 AMC CJ-7. When I was test driving the JK someone waved and I felt bad because I had forgotten all about it. I try to never miss a wave now! I was never a fan of the YJ. It made me think of the old Jeepster. (square headlights? A dashboard?) The TK definitely reminded me of my old Renegade, especially the Rubicon.

I kinda giggled when i saw this cuz this is the first thing my wife said "Now you have to wave at all the other jeep's, well wranglers the other ones don't really count as jeeps." Her family and mothers boyfriend are huge jeep fans and were happy when they heard I had purchased one

I got a wave from a woman in a JK today, she even smiled to. That is a double bonus for the day.

I got a JK wave from a guy at a intersection in town the other day. I noticed his window rolling down so I started to roll mine down and I'll be damned if he didn't stick his hand out and wave as the light turned green. I about fell out of the jeep because not too many jeepers wave in this area unless it's a CJ or covered in mud YJ/TJ.

damn!! he even rolled the window down to wave. now thats what i call a happy day!!

im very envious!.

if there is a jeep with windows up its a lucky day even if they just wave through the windshield.

i had a lifted cherokee that i was in an accident with and am now looking for a wrangler, my question is why dont any wrangler guys ever wave to people in cherokees. ive gotten a few waves from people in wranglers but for the most part they would just snub me.

If I see it's lifted with bigger tires then I'll toss a wave but 90% that I see usually are soccer moms in grand Cherokees. If I get a waved at first then no doubt I'll wave back regardless of vehicle.

+1 I'll look at any modded 4x4 and return any wave, but I don't seek them out from non-wranglers since 95% won't return. I'm well on the record of not discriminating against non-wranglers, so it's not that I'm snubbing anyone, but I wouldn't be expecting a wave from a Cherokee and my reaction time would likely be a little slow.

+2 i drive a slightly lifted xj and an mj for daily drivers. the cherokee guys don't wave even to other modded cherokees. i had a guy pull up to the pump across from me in a sweet xj, wouldn't even make eye contact. i just don't expect it from other vehicles.

Heck, I've got my lift sitting in the garage. I just need money for tires. A 2.5" lift w/ 30" radials would look a little goofy.

My brother and I have had Cherokee's for years, and never had a wave from any other Jeep. Didn't know about the Wrangler wave until my wife told me she got two waves on her way to work the first time out. She was excited and now seems to take the loooooooong way to work and back, searching out other Wranglers

I wave to all I usually get a wave back all the time. I think the issue with the owners of the new jeeps is that they are not familiar with the wave. Sometimes you can see that they are looking at you weird when you wave but you know the got the message, which is good. I also think it has to do if you leave in a big city people are distracted.

I once waved to a jeep from my subaru whene I use to leave upstate NY. Yes it was the hot blond, lifted, doors, top off(soft top). It was funny cause the wave was automatic from my subaru but I was passing the girl all the time on the roads.

I also think Jeep need to bring back the TJ, etc, style as well...But that's another story

I wave but hardly ever get a return wave. There's a lot of kids around here that have Jeeps and don't get it.... probably too busy texting.

The wife and I went to Utah for the weekend in the TJ and no one waved down there so back to the bird I went. The Mormons up here love that.

I decided the other day that I may have to stop throwing the wave. I'll wave to 10 jeeps a day and MAYBE get one half assed return. I'm switching to the finger too!

Being that Iv only had mine for about three weeks, I do wave at other jeeps.
But, like the majority of the members here, dont get one back.
Infact, I get a deer in the headlights look when I do.

My wife had a liberty no one ever waved. Now when she's in the wrangler a lot of waves from other wranglers. If I wave to anything other than a wrangler they look at me "like what's wrong with you" look. but then again I would get that look if I was in a church.
