The Jeep Wave

This isn't so much "on the trail" as just "in the Jeep." I've actually been getting a fair number of waves from fellow Wrangler owners. Didn't get it from one, though, in a tarted up, lifted Wrangler on what must've been at LEAST 38's. Drove by me on the arterial in Poughkeepsie yesterday- I waved, he didn't even acknowledge. NY tags "RED PILL"- you know what you did! Keep up the love, people- I was actually getting mad love before this, even in a JK (albeit a muddy one)- thanks to everyone else Mark W.

Seems to be less and less of it the more 'civilized' the Wrangler gets. Now that they're avail in 4 door 2WD models, it seems more people are buying them who aren't "Jeep" people at heart.
Disclaimer, anyone on this site probably is a Jeep person at heart, otherwise you wouldn't be having online conversations about them.

Nah, orange- it was Inferno red with yellow letters and details, and BIG ARSE tires- looked dumb, and an older dude driving. I will say, the 4-door drivers do seem to pay no attention to fellow Jeepers- usually on the cell phone, it seems (even though that's ILLEGAL in our great state- silly rabbits! Mark W.

Here in the northwestern corner of Massachusetts...in my tiny little town...there seems to be a hundred Wranglers...and it seems that just about everyone of them waves...I was out for a ride today and was actually getting tired of waving to people. Of course, this town is so small that you know half the people on the road anyways...and you wave regardless of vehicle type. ( :

Only real Jeepers wave and wave back. The others just don't get it.

Ya- I have the girlie trained to wave- she's missed once or twice and waved at the wrong car when I point out another Wrangler (she got the best confused look I've ever seen from some lady driving a minivan last Sunday ), but at least she tries Mark W.

I've got my 4 year old son waving to Jeeps now. He loves it, but is always disappointed when they don't wave back.

I'm a new Jeep owner and only learned about the wave after buying. After a few quick miles I already felt that owning a Jeep was something special so I decided that I too would throw the wave. I have found that many people don't wave back. Many of the stockers have obviously never thought about it. The big-boys often seem to snub me. The thought of 'I am apparently not cool enough' has crossed my mind a few times. I've already turned enough wrenches to feel a part of the club though so I'm going to keep it up. I'm not going to tilt my head like this guy though - If that is what is required, I'm out.

you only have to wave like that if your jeep looks like this b/c to do that to your jeep you'd have to be retarted.

WTF!? Why would anyone do something like that?

As if the overall presentation wasn't bad enough, they went ahead and cut the front of the frame off...

Hmmm, well I've always wondered who drove the stock TJ Rubi in my office (the one that is always backed into the spot). Today, as I was leaving for lunch, the guy was sitting in the drivers seat as I strolled past at 15mph heading for the exit. Didn't recognize the guy's face (big sunglasses) but I went ahead and threw the wave as we made eye contact. Snubbed. Huh? Maybe I'm just ugly.

I'm still working on getting my Jeep and hopefully it comes soon. But I'll send a wave out to all Jeepers in my area. Hopefully they wave back.
