I've noticed in my city that most Jeep drivers are not waving because they have one hand on the wheel and the other pushing a phone into their ear!

It's about half and half here with people waving. I'm kinda bad at it because there's soo many jeeps here that it's hard to pay attention to everyone.

Although I did have an interesting one the other day. i was at an intersection with about three lanes going in every direction and I was turning left. As I turn left I get almost all the way through the turn when I hear someone's horn beeping rapidly. I look to the left and see a middle aged man with his window down, almost half his upper body leaning out the jeep, and waving his arm back and forth trying to get my attention. I was so amazed that he was trying that hard for the wave back. I guess he read these "rules" before leaving home that day, ha. Hilarious situation for me and my wife at the time.

Dude. Not cool.

But at least you're honest, because certainly you're not the only one who doesn't wave.

When I got my TJ, The YJ's wouldn't wave. I just got my JK Unlimited 1 month ago and very few people wave to me. I wave to all (CJ, YJ, TJ...)

People won't know that you're a friendly JK owner unless you wave first...most JK owners around here are soccer moms...and needless to say, rarely does a JK owner wave at me, but they can all still expect a wave from me!

I wave at all jeeps. Rarely do I get a wave back. Irratating, but I will continue to wave. I drive a 2011,stock JKU, do you think that's the problem? I look nothing like a soccer mom, no makeup, no manicure, no designer clothes- I'm a jeans and t shirt kind of gal, and I have tattoos. Crap, maybe I scare people?

Toledo, Ohio home of the Jeep plenty of waves here... my understanding of the wave is that it is only two fingers off the wheel. Regardless I try to wave to all Wrangler's I too have noticed that many JK drivers do no return the wave.

I also live in Toledo, I've been a Jeep owner for about two weeks. I have received four waves. At wave number three after some minor confusion. I realized in bought into a brotherhood. I shall start waving back my brothers.

The first day I bought my TJ, k got about 3 waves from other jeepers., then after that no1 waved... Waved to a fellow TJ owner here in nth Qld the other day she just gave a dirty look- what's with not waving! I thought it was a jeep thing..
Not many jeeps here where I am - all miners with their hilux's n tritons
Down south Qld there are heaps of jeepers! Maybe I need to move there!
Mmm I'll work out my score tomorrow!

I absolutely hate the nut licker kiddies who don't know the wave, i used to live in DeKalb, right by NIU and most of the jeeps in that area are manned by college kids who wont ever use it to its fullest potential, or even close to it, oh it infuriates me, and the wave from the wheel quickly turns into the finger. And as for cherokees, only if you can tell they use it for anything other than grocery getting.

I was deeply sadden today driving down a back road and a older gentleman in an amazing looking willys. I mean it wasnt olive green but a deep red like dark blood red. I gave him a wave and a big smile (not creepy or anything just wowed) he just looked at me and then looked back at the road.

Ha! I love the jeep wave! I've noticed most older people (40+) driving jeep do not return the favor of a wave and it eats me up not really but out of respect.

Ha. I find that the ones that don't wave back to me are young, talking on their phones, and driving the newer breed. BTW..."older people" are 70+. Hmmm

Been thinking about making up lil Jeep Wave cards or flyers to leave on Jeeps, or maybe wranglerforum.com flyers? More subtle, lets them figure it out themselves? Feel like I got some many more waves returned 10 years ago then I do now..course, I was a blonde 16 year old bikini clad chick in a topless cj might've had more to do with getting waves back than the actual Jeep part...but still! notice unless it's a modified Jeep, I get no wave at best..at worst i get the dirty/who the heck are you look back

Heh Heh,before I left Nevada Saturday, I washed my JKU, after 4 months and while I'm wiping the windows, a Gorgeous red (lifted)TJ stops right in front of me and the guy say "NICE JEEP" and I thanked him and complemented his TJ--

Thats ONE in my little Nv town I'll always wave to, from now on

Oh, ilmjumper, if I see any bikini clad chick in a CJ/YJ/TJ/JK/Volkswagen--I'll wave (especially a blond)-you to IG!!

I wave to all also. Well all besides the old liberty because those seem like grandma jeeps. Ha.

However I noticed once you do a few mods, lift, wheels, lights... Etc. You get more waves back. Although I mainly initiate the wave, no idea why.
