I'm pleased to say that with the healthy covering of snow here in southern Iowa the Jeep population has probably doubled (the winter Jeepers with the 1" covering of dust from being in the barn all year,,, I'm guessing) and more willing to throw a wave than the handful I pass on a daily basis.
Hats off to you guys.

Maybe they haven't received their copy of your instructions on HOW they MUST use their Jeep. And personally, I don't think you're using your toilet paper to it's "full potential". You missed a spot.

That's because it's just a thing with Wranglers and CJ's.

Maybe the JK owners wave to fellow JK owners. I've only had one JK owner wave to me so far.

My wife laughs at me. I wave to every CJ/Wrangler I see, even if they can't see me wave and even if they are parked (dealership included) I even waive to some of the other "obvious off road" Jeeps I see. I don't even notice when they (the drivers) don't waive back most of the time. And don't you hate when you are mall crawling and end up having to park out in the boonies so you don't get hit with a shopping cart

why do people get so butt-hurt if someone doesn't wave back at them?
maybe they didn't see you, you know, paying attention to their driving? maybe they don't care or just don't know. maybe their jeep is just a means of transportation. maybe they're just jerks? why waste your energy worrying about it?

i've owned a classic car for many years now. we all wave at each other, regardless of make or model. if the guy in the other lane doesn't wave back, so what? it seems very insecure to me to get all upset about this. i wave at all the jeeps and old cars/trucks i see, which is to say, sometimes i don't see you. sometimes i'm looking at something else, like the nut job tailgating me or the cop on the side of the road or a shiny nickel or a pretty butterfly or.....
the world moves quickly out there, quicker than ever, sometimes people don't notice a wave.
let it go.

Good points Try not get upset if the other person doesn't wave cause I know there have been times when I was not paying attention, saw a Jeep passing out of the corner of my eye and thought "oh crap, did he wave to me?" Only time I get bummed is when it's an obvious no wave...sitting in traffic or on two lane roads..when you get the blank stare back Even I figure I'm waving at the Jeep...and thinking, "don't worry dude, one day someone will own you that understands"

Shopping cart door dings

Unfortunately, Wranglers don't have any side moldings for door dings. A lift kit and rock rails would be a good defensive against door dings. I might end up getting these not just for offroading but to teach someone a lesson about letting there doors fly open.

I was just joking about the shopping carts, lol. The lift, nerfs, rails, and 35s do help keep doors from hitting you. I don't mind a little damage, I just rather it come from the trail

i gave the standard jeep wave to another jeeper while sitting at a light the other day and he looked back at me like he was trying to figure if he new me from somewhere or not and then gave a small gesture that i wouldn'd really count as a wave. i honestly think most people don't even know that such a thing as a jeep wave even exists. i think i caught the poor guy completely off guard and he wasn't sure why i acknowledged him. i should of hollared "don't worry, i won't ask for money next."

Jeep should put a jeep wave instruction sticker on the visor next to the roll over sticker.

I get a lot of Jeep waves from TJ's out here in AZ, but it's hit and miss when I wave first.

I am really getting tired of the lack of wave backs here in delaware. I wave to all types and rarely get a wave back. I did have my freedom top off with my dog up front and I got a premature wave from a yj. The old guy waved from super far away and I was like wow I should be waving first but either way I was glad to get a wave. Dealers here really need to step their game up in the family education. Can't wait to travel to PA this weekend last time I was there Literally every wrangler waved.

I have a 1999 TJ that I bought brand new, and I will never forget the first time my wife drove it, when she came home and asked me. "Is there some thing where all Jeeps wave at you and your supposed to wave back"? In central Florida most evey Jeep Wrangler waves or wave back at you....

The jeep wave is for showing respect at other people who keep the tradition alive its not about points. My kids love riding in the jeep getting and giving waves to fellow jeepers. I have recieved waves from all makes of jeeps and all types of people I think its cool

i have figured out the non waving, those people are to wrapped up with calling other soccer moms and texting friends.

i am so upset over the lack of waves i have decided to start a grass roots movement, tweet, and facebook over this injustice.

i thought of driving my jeep over a cliff but didnt want to scratch the paint, that is why i lfted it in the first place

Hey, I have a JK/soccer mom success story. There is a soccer mom that lives somewhere near my neighborhood with a JK 4dr. I've passed by this Jeep maybe four/five times in the last week/week-and-a-half. Following protocol, I waved each time, and each time, nothing. No doubt, this poor woman thought I was confused, or some kind of crazy person (probably both.) However, this morning, I got a wave back followed by a thumbs-up and a huge grin. I think she finally got the memo!

It looks like persistence pays off with the JKs. In this part of Florida I get fairly consistent waves from other TJs, less than 50% of JKs, and Iím usually ignored by most everyone with major mods (why they think they need that stuff for driving on the beach I will never know .)
