The most unique shifter knobs

I saw a similar thread on another site and thought I'd see what you all have out there. So if you've got a unique, unusual, custom, or just an old favorite shifter knob in your Jeep, show it off.

Well not sure if this would fit the bill but I have a plush Alf puppet over my shifter.

I posted a pic of it in the TJ pic thread.

i like the kokopelli man! <--big fan of the k man

i have "custom made" 8ball shifter... i know its not that orginal but my dad had one in his truck and i had a 2ball in my old crx (because of the blue interior) and when i got my jeep i did a roll on bedliner in it so i wanted a black shifter that wasnt the crappy aluminum/gold that came with my jeep from previous owner (one of those cheap ones at the parts store for little rice burners i mean tuners)

i don't think the WWI German knob would be very comfortable to use.

Well, my trans shifter knob isn't very unique. It's just a 8 ball but my t-case shifter knob i quite unique. It is the end of the t-case output shaft from when I went SYE. I don't have it anymore. I think a neighbor kid took it when I was doing my frame off build.

I threaded one but the thread broke after a month or so.

I've thought about using some JB Weld somehow.

I've been considering making a ball peen hammer head for a shifter handle. I haven't done it b/c I can't figure out how to get the handle integrated to bolt on yet. I'll take ideas if anyone has any.

Took some engineering. I knew the metal of the grenade was soft and would not support the treads so I made a sleeve.

For the sleeve I used a Large bolt with course treads. Drilled the center of the bolt out. And threaded the center of the bolt to 10x1.25 threads too fit on the factory shifter rod. Then threaded the "sleeve" into the threaded hole I drilled into the grenade. Using an injector through the hole in the bottom of the grenade I injected JB weld to secure the sleeve into the grenade.

Tips...take your time.
Keep the nut that holds the factory knob on...you can use it under the grenade to hold it at the angle you wish.
Make sure the sleeve goes to the far inside wall of the grenade.
Also make sure it has about 3mm sticking out the bottom / to tighten the nut up too.

I'm sure someone else might have a better way to do it, but I'd fill the handle hole with JB Weld, drill a hole halfway through, tap it and thread it on. I can't tell you what size thread you'll need though.

Thread tap is 10x1.25= metric.

I know from experience that JB weld will hold up to nearly anything, but would it hold up filling a hammer head and all the shifting movement?

That would actually, be pretty easy.

but on topic...

New TC shift and stock shifter (I liked the feel) with a few mods...

Also did this to the stock TC knob, but I don't like it, so it's a paperweight

Cool stuff, I've tried twisting the shifter knob on my 2010 JK and it doesn't seem like it wants to come off, how are they removed?

I've had the same shifter knob on almost all of my vehicles. Got it off of a 1963 split window corevette that wrecked and rolled on the hwy. Nice and small and never hits or scrapes my knees

Yank the **** out of it, while trying to avoid smacking yourself in the face...
They just pull straight off, except the autos' t-handle
