Theft deterrent and rock ready!

So i have been worrying about my stereo and sub speaker for a long time now and i have been so lucky to not have anything lifted out of my jeep in the last 2 years i have owned it. But it has always bothered me. i am always trying to park where i can keep an eye on it and the such.

I finally came up with the best theft deterrent that does not involve me lugging around a speaker box.

This could be technically my first custom metal fabrication job as well.

I finally went to Pacific Steel and got the 1/8 x 2 flat bar by 8ft and got my vise and larger vise and a 5lb hammer and started bending. What i came up with was a U shaped strap that i drilled and secured to the tub of the jeep.
This was very easy to do and only took about an hour to finish minus letting the rustoleum dry.

Hope this helps anyone out. i am no longer worried about leaving school without my thump missing!!!

Also no more projectiles when doing some fast and bumpy wheeling!!!!!

Nicely done. What's to keep the would-be thief from sliding the speaker box out from the side?

Where did you come across the fasteners? I assume the bit came with them?

I thought about thr box being slid out and when I learn to use a welder I will make a side strap for it. As of now I had a bit of a gap amd when I bolted it down it snugged the vox down. I could not get the box to move my self.
I got the screws from a specialty bolt supplier. Spaner screw is what he called them.
