Things your parents/significant others didn't approve of

I would imagine a lot of us have done things when it comes to the Jeep that our parents, significant others, or in my case, my best friend's mother frankly didn't approve of. I'll start.

A few weeks ago, my best friend's mother was none to thrilled with my best friend and I. All we were doing was parking his YJ. He was behind the wheel and I was his spotter. Normally, you wouldn't need a spotter to park. Keep in mind however, we were not parking it on the street.

By the time we get the front two wheels up to said parking space and the left rear against um, the curb, we hear his mom yell...

"GET OFF THAT DECK RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!"...

So close, yet so far away. And the only reason we were in the process of parking on the back deck is because with the railings on both sides, the front steps of the duplex style house he lives in was just too narrow to fit the Jeep.

So what are your stories?

My wife can't figure out how a winch and rear bumper will fit into our kitchen remodeling plans.

Does that count?

No, they were never ok with that. None of them showed up to any of my tests or even my Black Belt "beat in." Mom cried every time she saw me with a new bruise, especially when I had my teeth busted and my eye swelled shut, oh and my thumb broken. She cried a lot over it. But none of that had anything to do with my jeep.

My parents don't approve of me having a jeep, "It's not ladylike". My significant other (hi Honey) doesn't approve of me scratching up the paint on my jeep.

It's not that I don't approve, it just makes my wallet cringe, if I'd known you were gonna go boogieing through the pucker brush we coulda found one that was a little less pretty
Oh well, it gets a little easier to watch every time we go out and it's certainly worth it.

My significant other (chello dear) doesn't approve of me fixing her Jeep, she wants to do it all herself.
My parents couldn't care less, they've seen me do far more dangerous things in far more dangerous vehicles.

LOL

my dad didnt approve of my lift, my new rims, me getting bigger tires, me adding a different head unit, me changing out my stock soundbar with another one, oh and the rat patrol sticker on my window..

now hes pissed bc my mom busted out my back window to my hardtop and im gettin blamed for it =/

my mom has supported me through this tho.. shes given me about 300 bucks towards the things i buy..

the only thing my dad has done for me, was cut down the adjustable jks swaybar endlinks at work for me.. and even then i had to argue with him to do so..

he said that ive trashed my jeep.. its a 99 and was in perfect shape until i dented the front fender a lil bit.. he hates the fact that im waiting to get tube fenders for the front.. and i keep telling him that tube fenders wont bend as easy =D

You all just need to have your Sig Other's join up like Odhn and Amy did. They just talk to each other on the board like none of the rest of us are here.

My wife does not approve of me driving over the rock garden that I made in the front yard. I thought I mentioned to her that once I got the Jeep that was my new designated parking area.... I guess I'll have to park in my normal spot...... Discretion is the better part of valor sometimes.
