I live in Citrus County,Florida. There are no jeep clubs here in town and the nearest one is the Ocala jeep club. Don't get me wrong I have heard alot of cool things about those guys but where they meet is like alomost an hour away from my house.I was thinking about trying to start a jeep club around here. I have been throwing the idea around to some of my buddies and they all said they would join up. We have the Withlacoochee State forest to go trail riding and camping in. Well I guess my biggest question to you guys is if I were to start a club what would you recommend my first steps should be?

Well I would say you've already done the first step. You've got a bunch of local guys that like to wheel/wrench/camp together. Next I'd say you need to work with your buddies and come up with whatever by-laws you want for your club. Then bascially you have a club. Check with your state 4wd association about having your club recognized and then do what you started it to do. Wheel

You can make it as simple or complicated as you'd like. Just up to what your wishes are.

Definitely get a set of By-Laws established, so that you have a code to conduct your club with. You can copy anyones By-Laws, and tailor them to your own specific needs. After being in a Jeep club for almost 2 years,I can see how essential it is, to the health of any club. As I am sure you are already aware of, some people would argue what color the sky is, on a clear day. Keep it as democratic as possible. Great ideas. I really never thought about the bi-laws thing it makes sence to have a set of ground rules to obay. How might I contact the florida four wheel drive asscociation.
