Thinking of getting a jeep

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and I've been thinking about getting a jeep as a side/second car. It's either this or a seadoo. I have always loved the wranglers, but a lot of my buddies have been telling me that the older wranglers aren't very reliable. Any input would be appreciated. I'm looking to buy a 2000,2001,2002 4.0 m/t.

or a kitty!

you will probably do well with any TJ that has reasonably low miles and not a lot of trail time. look at the undercarriage for any rock damage to the frame, axles and skid plates. and rock on!

well...those first post is not a surprise to me for 2 reasons...

1) puppies are awesome

and

2)

the second post, cats suck, don't get one.

but back to the point...what is your intended use for the jeep? a seadoo and jeep are very different things...lol. that may be a question we need answering before we can help!

First off, I love the Super Cool video...

Seadoo will be fun.
Jeep will be fun.

Do you live near a large body of water?
Do you live in a region that supports off roading?
Do you live in a mild climate, in which you can jetski year round?

I would consider the fact that the jetski is only good for the summer, and the jeep can keep you occupied year round.

My $0.02.

EDIT: PS, I agree, cats are only good with pork fried rice.

I have a second car right now, and it's a Infiniti I35 4dr sedan. It's getting old and I don't use it much so I'm thinking of selling it soon. I rather not wait until the value depreciates a lot more. Both the seadoos and jeeps have open/no tops and can be enjoyed on a nice summer day.

Can't do pets because I live in an college apartment and they'll charge me crazy fees. puppies are awesome though

Exactly why I'm leaning more towards the Jeep. I live maybe 15 minutes away from Lake Martin and I'm in Auburn, AL. Lots of good places to go offroading.

Roll Tide.. sorry you know how it is down here I couldn't help it. This year is AU's turn to win the NC so we'll just rotate our state for the title every year. Anyway.after 10 yrs. you can't get parts for a jet ski... don't make them. a friend had one about that age and couldn't get parts. Jeeps are fun but will take all your money buying junk for them. have fun jeepin ...
