Introducing the 2015 Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon 12th Anniversary Edition
( Please No release Prior to August 19, 2013 at 7pm est.) Contact Jeep media relations for additional media kits.

For the Jeep Brand Enthusiasts

2015 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 12th Anniversary Edition:

Mike Manley, President and CEO — Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC summed it up best when he said, “The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition is a tribute to ten years of Wrangler Rubicon history and we are very proud at how well that has been received in the market place. I am there for happy to announce there will be a 12th Anniversary Rubicon Edition. Why a 12th Edition, it is very simple, with a total redesign coming in 2015 for the Wrangler line up, not having a special Rubicon Edition to foster in that new and fresh design while we say goodbye to the old would not be right” Manley went on to say.”It will pick right up where the 2013 Edition left off. One of the things I am most excited to share is an optional power plant… a 227hp Diesel that in addition to great power will provide an unheard of 37 mpg highway.”

Mark Allen, Head of Jeep Design, also hinted about a few other changes to the Jeep line coming in 2015.”We have seen over the past 10 years how well the Rubicon has been received by our customers, We also understand that not everyone who wants a Rubicon can get one. With that we will be announcing a program on the option side that will allow folks to add most of the Rubicon items to non Rubicon models right from the factory.” Allen continued. ”While it is still a work in progress we are looking at ways for more none Rubicon owners to get the special feel of a Rubicon. It sort of all started with the 10a buyers, go online to any forum conversation and people are just in love with the 10a look. Look for us(Jeep) to offer the same bumpers, seat options, colors and other small things as factory options. We might even consider offering front and rear lockers on the non Rubicon models.” Allen however could not comment on the rumor if the new 12th Edition Rubicon would in fact feature an all aluminum body as well as duel or rear Dana 60 axle(s), he would only say that it would come with what he called a “Heavy Haul Option” and it would weigh a lot less. Jim Ford, Jeep Marketing said regarding the new 12th Edition” It will be leaps and bounds superior to the current Anniversary Edition, it will be unique vehicle that we expect will long be sought after, a Wrangler that offers an unprecedented level of capability, excellent mileage, and comes from the factory with what was once only attainable by long hours of custom aftermarket preparation crafted in the garages of the most avid Jeep enthusiasts in the world.”

Good news is by the time I'm ready to buy a new jeep these bad boys will be out on the market with the bugs worked out... This is AWESOME for sure. Honestly a genius move for Jeep... Good to hear they aren't going to be sissifying (is that a word?) the wrangler like some have feared. We know for sure now it's going in the right direction. As long as the styling/body changes to the new one aren't as hideous as some of the recent jeep products (think, squinting cherokee), I think we will be one happy community.

Got to admit I was hooked for a minute. The 37mpg had my eyebrows raised and the aluminum chassis had me grunting, but you reeled me back in with the ala carte rubi options. I guess you believe what you want to believe. Like when people tell you your kids are good looking (and deep down you know that they're ugly bastards)
