Throttle Body Spacer?

How many people are useing spacers? Seems like it would create more manifold vacume at lower RPM, increasing gas mileage on those of us who don't have enuf gear.

Don't expect that alone to make a noticable difference.

Spacer, cold air intake, (real cold air) header, less restrictive exhaust all may add up to 3 mpg better, if you are lucky.

Not a great return on your investment monetarily. Maybe a few hp gain.

I had a convo with another member few weeks back about them. I plan on getting one when I start working on my cold air intake.

for the price of a spacer you can get a 63mm bored throttle body off of ebay. that would be a much larger improvment. just my $.02

Jp Magazine did a dyno test a year or so ago on bolt on mods to improve performance. I can't find the article right now, but to the best of my memory, the only thing the throttle body spacer did was to add a whistling noise to the intake. No performance improvements were noted in either measured hp nor in driveability.

If I was you, I would save my money. There is no substitute for lower gears if you don't have "enuf gear." Gears are the best bang for the buck performance improvement there is.
