tiny's considering a new lift...

If I go to a three inch lift can I take off my body lift and still fit 33's??

I'll need a SYE too right? So I could go ahead with the belly up while I'm at it... and new brake lines I assume...

Personally I was thinking about a face lift before I get a body lift.

You shouldn't need a SYE with a 3" lift, but if you do the tummy tuck at the same time, then yes you would need one. But most tummy tucks require a 1" body lift to fit the transmissions.

Who or what lift did you have in mind?

Wasn't making any judgement on tiny needing a lift I just thought I would pass along my needs. That way if anyone wanted to the donate to the get badge a face lift charity they would know about it. I am sorry it is not tax deductible but the reward you get will help my self view. Ok maybe not. I would just blow the money on jeep stuff.

Haven't decided yet, just looking at how much the whole mess would cost and if I can actually do it myself.


Would I have to drop the t-case without the SYE?

With a 3" Lift? It should be minimal if at all, as you already have that MML.

It was a double post and I needed something to fill the space. On your actual topic you shouldn't need a transfer case drop from what I have read with a 3 inch lift. You may have to trim the transfer case skid plate a little.

Thank you.

Now, back to my lift. I don't necessarily need a SYE if I go to three inches of lift, but I do if I want a belly up because of the angles. The SYE needs to be ordered specifically for my jeep right? Or is it sold by specific lift size?

Each drive shaft is custom built per application, as we all know every Jeep is different.

3" Lift : maybe a tiny tiny t-case drop & BL can be removed
3" Lift w/ SYE : BL lift can be removed.
3" LIft w/ SYE & Belly Up : BL stays

Also - figure in ~$200 for rear upper adjustable control arms as they are needed with an SYE and CV type drive shaft.

If you installed your last lift, it wont be terribly hard. The only thing you might find difficult is the SYE install. For that, its best to remove the transfer case from the Jeep and do it on a workbench. Some will state otherwise. If you do not feel capable of performing the SYE install yourself, I was quoted ~$250-300 for install. Its really a pretty straight forward thing though.

The main thing is, whats your goal? Do you want the Belly-up? You want to get rid of the BL?

I want a full fledged lift, not spacer anymore (though it served it's purpose), a bit taller but not insane and I'd like the belly up but I can live without it. If the BL has to stay, no problem. But I also only want to run 33's so the BL might have to go because 33 with a three inch lift and one inch BL might be too small. I'm not ready to change my axle or explode it.

One solution to the Belly-Up problem.. Nth Degree's Tummy Tucker can be used without a BL. Although ~$500, its $200 more than a lot of the other belly-up skid plates, but you would still require an SYE.

Just to let you know tiny on my rebuild I am planning a 3.5 inch black diamond lift with a 1inch body lift. I am also planning on running 33's so in my opinion it would look okay if you have to keep the body lift. I would say from what have mentioned about $1k is going to be close when it is all said and done. Not that you have to spend that all in one shot. You will also have to think about the steering changes.

X2 Don't put too little of lift on again. 3" is not enough, in time you'll start thinking of 35" tires. Give yourself room to grow.

One thing I'd recommend, is the RE kits. Especially the SuperFlex. The reason I went with the one that I did, I have the option of later on buying the long arm upgrade, and keep my springs, shocks, disconnects, brake lines. And if I even want to, I can even buy their taller spring and just swap them in without needing to buy anything else.
