Tire chart

Is there a chart that shows the differences in tire sizes? Im looking to figure out from metric to standard. I want 31's, but what is equal to that size? I found a good deal on 235/75/15 but not sure how to find out the size of that tire.

that just helps calculate speed. Im trying to figure out if a 235/75/15 is closer to a 31x10.50 or what size is close to it.

235 is the amount of mm across the tread width. 75 is the percentage of 235, as the hight of the side wall.

235mm = 9.25 in

9.25in x .75 = 6.94in (sidewall)

6.94 x 2 = 13.875 = 15 (rim) = 28.875

so those tires would be 28.875 (29in) x 9.25in (9.5) x15

Hope that helps make your decision easier.

what would be the smallest width tire to run on a 15x8 rim? I just want to downsize the tires, not change the rims. Im looking for a 31 10.50, but it seems like the metric size is cheaper.

divide the metric numbers on tire sizes by 25.4 and it converts to inches....I dont have a calc handy, but for instance, P255 tire would be approx a 10" wide tire.

I wouldn't go any smaller than an 8.5 or 9" tire on an 8" wide wheel. Just IMO.

I went back to the 30 X 9.50's on the MT rims
