You have a TJ.

YJ's have square headlights and leaf springs.

I am with 4jeepn, i hope that you where talking to some hillbilly used auto salesmen that dosnt know the difference between a ford and a chevy. because if you where at a jeep dealership and they told you that, that salesmen need to be fired. and like jeepcrawer98 said Yj are square lights and leafsprings and normaly early 80's to 95 and TJ are round (not to be confused with the CJ they are round too) and coil springs and 97 to current. now dont ask me about 96 because i dont know where they went too . or if its called a TYJ LOL !!!! but personlly I have never seen a 96.

97 Tj came out in late 96.. thus no real 96 model year wrangler.

My 97 TJ was built in August of 96. I've seen posts on other boards where guys had TJs made as early as March or April of 96 even though they are registered as 97's.

A 96 model would have likely been manufactured in 95.

Compare the early TJ's to the new JK:

as of this moment they are building the JK.. model 2007

So there is no 2006 JK..

You can also call Chrysler/Daimler and get a manual for your Jeep. That is what I had to do.
